Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Holsomback.
In 2007, Bliss Bridal Salon opened on Foch Street off of W 7th in Fort Worth almost as a calling from God. The owners had no experience in bridal, no long-term plans to open a business together or anyone to mentor them but alas, they felt it was the right thing to do. (They also figured that if they could make a business work, they could make a marriage work and alas, they did that too!)
In 2011, they had outgrown their first location and relocated a few minutes away to Camp Bowie. As Fort Worth’s largest bridal salon, they were able to assist more brides in private appointment rooms with the personalized service they were known for. Over the next five years, they would build many relationships and lifelong friends with their brides. Many who have worked in the salon at one time or another because ultimately, it’s about more than a gown, it’s creating heritage and memories.
In 2017. Bliss Bridal Salon relocated to the Handley Wedding District alongside other vendors such as Tami Winn Events, Creme de la Creme, Paper Planet and It’s Your Night Entertainment just to name a few. In their new location, they are able to assist more brides with 9 private appointment rooms, the largest gown selection in Fort Worth and a team of 10 bridal stylists to help each bride achieve the perfect look for their big day!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As with anything, there are joyous moments and not so joyous moments. We have been blessed with a multitude of joyous moments and just a handful of not so joyous ones although we have made friends in each and every situation God has placed in our path. Each moment reminds us of why we do what we do. People. Ultimately, every decision is with the bride in mind and how can we help make this experience memorable for her.
Please tell us about Bliss Bridal Salon.
We offer bridal attire aka Aisle Style for brides and their besties (bridesmaids). We create memories with each experience and get to enjoy one of the happiest times in their life with them. With our private appointment rooms, we are a little more hands-on in our approach. We carry all the gowns for the bride, hand select them from our closed stock room and help them each and every step of the way.
We are customer service oriented and feel that none of the guests should have to lift a finger during the appointment! We also put family first and are closed on Sundays for this purpose, friends, family, and church emphasized by our choice of music in the store. We hope that everyone sees our passion to make this best experience and how we truly want to be the ones to help them find their dream gown!
We also have an adorable shop dog named Max. She is an English Creme Golden Retriever and has grown up at the salon. She’s eagerly awaiting the arrival of each bride to ensure they start their appt off with love!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. Each step of the way has shown us the path that we need to follow, people that are right for us in that time of our life and made us who we are today. By our blessings with some of the best brides out there, we wouldn’t change a thing!
