Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Villegas, Jr.
Hi Jorge, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story begins growing up in Farmers Branch and spending my summers going to pilot point, working with my father from middle school to high school, and seeing how he worked fabricating and installing kitchen countertops for a living. Back then I didn’t like having to go I wanted a normal kid’s summer but in hindsight site it was a blessing that taught me a lot about not only work but becoming a man. I’ve always been around the countertop business/industry because of my father and his brothers who all started in that field, some eventually started their own countertop shop others venturing out starting their own tile company. Growing up, I got into some trouble, but when I finally decided what I wanted to do with my life, I decided to implement all that I had learn from my childhood, experiences with my father, and what I didn’t know. I shadowed my uncle of mine for several years, learning about tile and how to run and operate a business. Fast forward to today we are 6 years strong providing not only the best in countertops and tile installations but also in full interior remodeling. With the help and support of my family we have become a strong and successful business. Our journey as a company is still being written, but with all the experiences I have gain in life through perseverance and struggles I have overcome. We look forward to growing and servicing our community for a very long time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road; just like any other company, we have had our shares of struggles. Thankfully nothing that we have not been able to overcome, from last-minute schedule changes to resolving material issues out of our control. Also having to deal with multiple personalities from clients to employees, making sure everyone is being catered to and taken care of. Another challenge is when unexpected obstacles arise during the project and have to be addressed immediately, in the end, all these obstacles have helped us grow and get better at adapting to become better problem solvers.
We’ve been impressed with Jrs Countertops & Remodeling Co. LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a family-owned and operated company specializing in full kitchen and bathroom remodeling with also being known for our stellar countertops and tile installations. We would love to be known as more of a custom-based company so that we are able to show a broader range of our talents. We would like for us to be known as a premier remodeling go-to in the Dallas Ft Worth region.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am a proud father of two, a boxing head and avid mma fan. I love Art, in its many forms from practicing jiujitsu to tattoos both of which played a big role in Jr’s countertops early on with both community’s being some of our biggest supporters and best clients.
When I young I wasn’t very good at a lot of things but I did enjoy drawing/art, had a knack for it came very naturally. Although I never pursed it as I got older I’ve always been fond of art one way or another and in my life I feel very lucky that I get do what I do for a living as I feel each and every project/remodel that we take on is an art work whether big or small and I treat it as such. I love what I do, love to deliver and make my clients happy each and every time.
