Hi Sravya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been really interested in cooking and would constantly share my cooking adventures with my friends over Snapchat. After a point, a friend suggested that I make an Instagram page just to document some of my work. People started asking me to post recipes for some of my more unique/fusion recipes – so this turned into a more dedicated food page where I not only shared food recipes from my kitchen but also anything that I was intrigued by when dining out!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When you put yourself out there on Instagram – there are a lot of ups and downs. For months at a time, it feels like there is no reach – that no one is seeing your work. So, it’s really important to always remind yourself why you started and keep going for that reason.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a technology consultant for a large Consulting firm. I get to work with various retailers and large businesses to help them set up technological systems that improve their processes. This usually entails a lot of travel – so I enjoy getting to go to new places and trying the food there!
What makes you happy?
I think I’m really happy when I envision a really random, unique recipe in my head, and it actually turns out well! I’m definitely my hardest critic when it comes to cooking – so if I like it, it means a lot to me (not to sound vain – it really, really blesses my heart when I’m able to impress others as well.
Other than this – one of my favorite moments is when I can cook up a very comforting home-style meal for someone, and they tell me it reminds them of their grandmother – I feel like I’m set!
