Today we’d like to introduce you to Kingsley Bonsu.
Hi Kingsley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2015, my very good friend George Quarshie, aka Gee Q, was now transitioning from hobby photography to professional, and we would call me come and assist him with holding items and other stuff. In 2017 he break through into the wedding market, and he tag me along to an assistant photographer. 2018 and 2019 was a huge run across the country, traveling from East Coast to West Coast then to Southern State. I then took a break in 2020 to late 2021, then I came out a videographer as the industry didn’t have enough of it. Gee Q started pressuring me to get more better with it, I then polished my work by taking videos at wedding and putting them together for Instagram reels. By the end of 2022, o have then mastered my work, and I could add videography services to the photography services I was already doing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It wasn’t smooth path, but it was smooth part because I had someone giving me the moral and support to always do better. I started photography and videography with top-of-the-line camera and lens. It gave me the competitive advantage over what was out there. The struggles were messing up client photos and video and having to get it fixed before chaos arise. Serving Gee Q to gain the experience. It’s been quite a rough road and it’s been great at the end.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Water Chemist from University of Cincinnati; I have been through startup accelerator venture, the business lost funding, and I went back into the workforce as a chemist; that when I had enough time to join Gee Q as an assistant. I enjoy every single thing that I do. I love to take risk and for some reason it always turns into my favor. For now, my specialty is Chemist, Photographer and Videographer. I’m great at all 3. Oh, and also, I am private car dealer.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is how you measure and (or) celebrate certain achievements in life and you rewarding yourself for that. It’s bring monetary, assets, graduating from college, having a PhD, new car, etc.
