Exploring Life & Business with Nina-Marie Rueda of Olive Wellness Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina-Marie Rueda.

Nina-Marie Rueda, ND

Hi Nina-Marie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started in holistic health care when I became pregnant with my first child. It was through my pregnancy with him that I began to wonder about how I cared for my body: what I was eating, how I was sleeping, what sorts of products I was using on my skin, how I went about health care, planning for labor and delivery, and so much more. Pregnancy had the snowball effect on me becoming a traditional naturopathic doctor.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My own health challenges provided some speed bumps along the way, but I don’t view that as a challenge per se. Like speed bumps that cause you to slow down and be a bit more mindful of your surroundings, things like hypothyroidism and Lyme Disease have allowed for me to become more aware of what is needed and also be more empathic with my clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of Olive Wellness Group. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
As a naturopath, I work with women through the preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum seasons, ensuring that their bodies are well-nourished for the task of motherhood. I also work with families in supporting the health of their children, especially those with health concerns like eczema, GI dysfunction, and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). In my practice, we run functional tests like Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, or the GIMAP (a stool test), or blood chemistry in order to find the root cause of one’s health concerns.

I am most proud of my clients. I am merely someone who helps to point them in the right direction and they do the work to accomplish their health goals. So when a client’s eczema is finally gone, or a mother finally loses the weight that has hung around for 5 years, or someone’s thyroid lab numbers normalize along with regaining energy and zest for life: all of that is a joy to see happen in the life of my clients. We typically work for 4-8 months, and my goal is for them to be able to go on and not need constant support but to give them the tools to live life abundantly.

All of my work is virtual, so I work with clients across the country and abroad.

How do you define success?
When a client no longer needs 17 different supplements and regular testing to feel like herself again but instead measures her joy in life with the ability to run around with her children without being winded/out of breath.
