Inspiring Conversations with Jalisa Buck of Evolution Of SHE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalisa Buck.

Jalisa Buck

Hi Jalisa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! I’m Jalisa, and I’m so happy to be here with you. Let me tell you a bit about my life journey—it’s been a mix of different experiences, some tough times growing up, and moments that shaped who I am today. In 2016, a scary life-threatening situation made me take a closer look at my life. During those tough times, my faith in God became my rock, giving me strength and comfort. It became like a compass guiding me to a purpose beyond all the challenges. My journey goes from joining the military right after high school to a phase of figuring things out, trying different things in business. Whether it was real estate, running a branding agency, or getting into interior design, what might seem like changing paths to some is really just me being good at adapting and solving problems. Connecting with people from all walks of life became proof of my unique strengths. Each phase, even with its changes, became a way for me to express my purpose. Fueled by faith and a search for confidence and clarity, I found my calling in helping other women on their journeys through life and business. Now, as a coach, speaker, and event host, my mission is to help women not just succeed but feel confident and clear about who they are. It’s about bringing out their strengths, understanding their identity, and making their dreams a reality. This mission comes from a strong confidence that comes from faith and seeing growth as a part of our purpose. Can’t wait to share more with you!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My life has had some tough moments, especially from a hard childhood, dealing with bad relationships and family issues almost non-stop. These personal struggles didn’t just stay in my personal life; they followed me into my work.

To cope, I acted tough and didn’t show my feelings. I tried hard to please everyone, even when it wasn’t good for me or my business. This ended up costing me a lot of time and money. Trusting people, especially women, was tough because someone I loved let me down. Wanting to fit in and be accepted, I let people treat me badly.

The biggest struggle was with myself—feeling like I wasn’t good enough to accomplish what I knew God put in me to do, like I was pretending, and my confidence was so low. I wasn’t sure who I really was, making it hard to be myself all the time- let alone find momentum or consistency in my efforts.

This is why I’m passionate about helping others going through similar challenges. I know how hard it can be to see a vision of the impact you can make with the vision God has ultimately given you- but because of the internal battle within- you make little to no movement, and before you know it… years have gone down the drain. I want to help others find confidence and overcome these challenges so they can live a purposeful life of impact.

Through things like being more aware of myself, learning from others, making better choices, talking to someone about my feelings, and growing my faith in God, I’ve seen life in a new way. I now understand that these tough parts of my life were connected to my purpose. This realization made me focus more on healing and what I’m meant to do, inspiring me to encourage others on their journey to purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business?

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I’m generally a natural born risk-taker, though I feel as I get older and wiser, my choice of risks are fewer. Starting this journey, one big risk I took was moving from designing brands and technical and hands-on work to coaching, mentoring, speaking, and consulting. This change completely transformed how my business worked, making it harder to reach a new audience. What made it even riskier was shifting my focus to a different group of people, trying to understand who they were and how I could help them best.

During this change, I faced a lot of uncertainty, and those sneaky feelings of imposter syndrome crept back up… I questioned whether I was credible enough to guide women of faith and worried about my spiritual standing. Despite these worries, I chose to take the risk, believing that being obedient to my calling would bring reward.

Surprisingly, my worries eased when I got my first high-ticket client in this new area without much effort or marketing. It showed me that taking risks, especially when they align with a bigger purpose, can bring unexpected blessings. This experience has strengthened my belief that even when things seem uncertain, following your calling leads to positive outcomes that far outweigh the risks you had to take to get there.
