Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonya Dangerfield.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have an MBA from Texas Woman’s University and a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution and Mediation. And for a decade, I worked in Compliance as a Review Specialist, which is similar to an auditor, where I was responsible for reviewing the financial and program adherence of financial institutions to the federal agency’s rules and specifications. My transition into real estate and insurance has been a very natural move because it uses both my education and the skills that I acquired and used in prior positions to review contracts, analyze offers, and strictly adhere to the regulations and timelines.
In 2023, I upgraded from being a Real Estate Sales Agent in Texas to becoming a Real Estate Broker. I also became licensed to sell real estate in Oklahoma; I received my license to sell life insurance products. 2023, as well as starting a team where I brought on additional real estate agents to help reach as many families as possible.
My absolute passion is advising my clients on the best way to build wealth, whether that is through buying or selling real estate or purchasing insurance products that will provide retirement income and build legacy wealth for their families.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes and no. Success was not instant, but it has been steady. Once I came to terms with the fact that every dollar that I make is a direct result of my actions, I got busy and turned my passion into fuel that has not only helped me to help dozens of families but that also helped me to grow my own portfolio. My passion to help others keeps me motivated, so I vowed to not approach my business as someone that just sells houses or sells insurance. I provide a consulting service to my clients that matches them with the best product for their specific family dynamics and circumstances. I became a subject matter expert in both industries, not so that I could sell more but so that I could provide the best advice and service to my clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tonya Dangerfield Home Team?
In 2023, I launched the Tonya Dangerfield Home Team, focusing on connecting with other individuals with the same passion that I have to enrich the lives of others, using real estate and insurance products that protect the home, the equity in the home, and the wealth of the families in the homes, that we serve.
My team has grown substantially and currently includes three State of Texas licensed Realtors, focusing on different areas of the DFW metroplex, East Texas, Northeast Texas, and North Texas, as well as a transaction coordinator and a team assistant that manages the day-to-day operations and transactions of the team.
In addition to being a licensed Broker in the State of Texas, I am also a licensed real estate agent in Oklahoma, and I am able to write insurance policies throughout the United States.
How do you define success?
I define success by how many people’s lives I am personally able to make better. I am not motivated by making money. I am a person of faith, and I believe that I will always have what I need. My motivation comes from helping other people and their families get into a better financial situation than they were before they hired me or someone on my team.
