Rising Stars: Meet Bridget Brookshire’

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridget Brookshire’.

Bridget Brookshire’

Hi Bridget, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I have always wanted be a hairstylist my entire life. If you spent the night with me when I was a little girl, we played beauty shop. If you were one of my family members, I always wanted to give you a new hairdo. I love making people feel they’re the very best and bringing out the best version of them using their hairstyle and the right hair color. When I’m with my client, listen to their needs and their concerns about their hair. Once I’ve established what those are, then I discussed with my clients what my recommendations are and explain to them the process that I’m going to use so that they understand completely what will be happening and why I’ve chosen to do the things my goal is always to make sure that the client’s hair stays healthy. I specialize in long hair and curly hair as well as color, so I never want to cut any more off of my long-haired clients than they request or just enough to keep it healthy, and then I keep them on a maintenance schedule to keep them from having to cut off length when that is not their goal. Growing up, I had curly hair and had many bad haircuts, so I understand my curly clients and their desperate need to get a haircut. I also try to style my clients’ hair based on their needs at home so that they will know how to style it when they get home I don’t send them home in this unobtainable hairstyle I try to be practical myself and the life, and mom, and I get wanting to know how to do your hair when you spend good money to get it done you want to be able to re-create the design when you get home.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, I’ve always wanted to be a hairstylist. I’ve done many things over the years. I started hair school and went for a while and had to drop out for personal reasons and then years later I was finally able to go back, and it is the best thing I’ve ever done. I never feel like I’ve in my life because I enjoy thoroughly what I do

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work at the best salon in Princeton. Bloom Hair Studio is owned and operated by Judy Renfroe, who is also a master stylist. It is kind of a hidden gem being located at the corner of Highway 380 and Monte Carlo. All the stylist at Salon are amazing inside and out. Once you have been a client of ours, you become part of the Bloom family.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
If you read my reviews on my Gloss Genius website, you’ll see that my clients are always commenting on my ability to not only listening to them but to hear what they are saying and wanting. Your first appointment with a new hairstylist is kinda like a date. Sometimes, it takes a couple of dates to make sure that you’re a good match. I’m just human, and I make mistakes, and I let my clients know if I ever make a mistake or they’re unhappy with anything, I’m more than happy to fix it. I’m not offended because, again we all make mistakes
