Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Bledsoe.
Hi Andrea, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
It was 2016, and I was still a pretty new RN working nights at one of the local hospitals. My cousin talked me into going on a 7-day cruise with her. That was my first trip ever, and I was SO excited to go! We flew to San Juan the day before our cruise left & just walked around exploring the city & the culture. Once the cruise started, we met some amazing people (on the ship & the locals), stopped at the most beautiful ports, and I was left with some awesome memories… and a few scary ones, too, lol. Once that trip was over, I made the decision that I wanted to be able to give people those same feelings and experiences that I had while traveling. So, I started researching what I needed to do in order to become a travel agent. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This definitely has not been a smooth journey. Even now, there are still some bumps. My biggest obstacles have been learning to properly market to my target audience and figuring out what my niche is. In the beginning, I made the mistake of trying to do everything and mastering nothing. That taught me how not to operate moving forward. Keeping up with the social media trends is pretty tough, too.
We’ve been impressed with Drea’s Dream Travels, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Drea’s Dream Travels is a boutique travel agency that specializes in cultivating international group travel experiences to the Caribbean and beyond. I pride myself on taking the time to give my clients that human element, a personal touch. I want them to feel like people & not numbers. Whether you are a first-time traveler with a ton of questions or an experienced traveler looking to knock off a bucket list trip, I am available to listen and assist with making your dream trip a reality!
When you travel in groups, you come as strangers and leave as friends. I currently have some wonderful trips available for 2024 to Dubai, Jamaica, and Riviera Maya. I’m working on a few blockbusters for 2025 as well! Japan, anyone?

What makes you happy?
It may sound cliche, but traveling is my greatest joy, and not just because I’m a travel agent. The best way to learn who you are is through travel. You learn what you will or won’t do, life is put into perspective when you get to see other worlds up close and personal. I am a servant by nature (nurse Drea checking in), so helping people and seeing the happiness that travel brings them and knowing that I played some small part in that? Best Feeling Ever!
