Today we’d like to introduce you to Preston Lewin.
Hi Preston, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Today, I’m 19 years old, and my primary company does multiple 6-figures in annual gross profit. Here’s how I got to where I am today.
When I was younger, I had no idea what entrepreneurship was, but looking back I was always entrepreneurially minded. Whether it was skipping class to flip sneakers on Facebook marketplace, selling my artwork, or crowdfunding my own video game, I’ve always been a creative and a hustler.
My freshman year of high school, my parents took me to Best Buy and bought me an inexpensive desktop computer for my birthday. The second I got home, I ran into my room and set it up so that I could start playing video games on it. The only problem was that it wasn’t powerful enough to run anything. After hours of scouring the internet and watching YouTube videos, I determined I needed to upgrade part of the PC. So, I saved up my money, ordered the part I needed, and learned to install it myself.
From that moment onward, I was hooked on the world of PC hardware. I built and sold over 100 PCs throughout high school as a side hustle and loved it. By the time my senior year rolled around, I honestly didn’t know what I was doing with my life. I was a serious trumpet player but didn’t want to do it for a living. I ended up going to UTD and majoring in international business since I had taken some Spanish classes in high school and knew I wanted to make money. After about 3 days of going to college, I was miserable and knew it wasn’t for me, which is why I ended up dropping out to run my business full-time just a few months in.
Also, around this time, I had a friend in the music industry that wanted to buy a premium Gaming PC but didn’t have the money upfront. We worked out a deal where he paid me for the system over the course of 3 months and I knew at that moment that there had to be a market for this. So, I once again took to Facebook marketplace with my offer. The first 2 PCs I ever sold on a payment plan were stolen, and the deals completely fell apart. “Well, that was a stupid idea.” So, I went back to just building PCs and selling them at full price as a side hustle. A few weeks went by, and the idea of selling premium Gaming PCs on affordable payment plans just kept kicking the back of my head. So, I sat down and created a process so that I was less likely to be stolen from again. I officially launched my primary company, “Presteeto PC LLC,” on September 23, 2022, and haven’t looked back since.
So, today I’m 19 years old. Presteeto PC has multiple team members, has sold hundreds of systems, and does multiple 6-figures in net profit each year. Though my journey started due to a love of PC hardware, these days, I’m extremely passionate about entrepreneurship and business in general. Recently, I became a partner in “Bayani Edu,” a soon-to-launch financial literacy and entrepreneurship community for teens. I’m extremely philanthropic, and this company is my way of providing the financial education I wish I had when I was younger in hopes of shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs and changing the educational landscape forever.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Getting to where I am today at such a young age required sacrifices that most people aren’t willing to make. I’ve had romantic relationships fall apart at my feet in pursuit of my goals. I don’t go to parties. I don’t hang out with friends. I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I wake up at 5:30 am, go to the gym in the morning, and then I work until I fall asleep at night.
Entrepreneurship is a lonely journey, and that’s coming from a serial networker. The key is to fall in love with the game. Fall in love with the process. Despite the challenges, the lost relationships, the loneliness, the anxiety, the stress, the depression, Entrepreneurship is the single most fulfilling journey I’ve ever been on, and I would go through it all again in a heartbeat.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
