Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Ejiofor.
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Poland , raised in Italy I did not imagine my life changing in a blink of an eye. I actually moved here to the Dallas Fort Worth area back in 2008 when my parents told me , pack your bags we are moving to America . I remember the process being so quick it felt like 2 days . I did not know how to speak English and surely did not know anything about the united states of America. The same week after we touché I had to go straight to school leave behind everything I knew . It was definitely different and a very humbling experience. I still miss home to this day, growing up in Italy has taught me so much and having parents from two different cultures has shaped my life to be quite extraordinary. My dad , who originally from Nigeria and my mother who is polish have the most romantic story on how I was brought into the word . My dad worked for the Italian ambassy and my mom moved to Italy from Poland because she wanted to learn Italian . And so they met in Rome . Their passion of life and exploring new places impacted my life very significantly, and I am so blessed to have been able to live in different countries and experience different cultures .
Now here in America thanks to my parents I am doing what I love . Graduated from the University of North Texas but found out that corporate America is not my final destination. Growing up I’ve always had a passion for photography and loved watching models , how they are so confident and own their beauty . I never thought I could be one . Growing up in Italy you never see models who are plus sized . I was always the bigger girl growing up and it made me feel insecure a lot . Also being black in Poland and Italy , was not easy for a kid .
Here in America I gained the confidence to love myself and go after modeling . I am currently a content creator and plus’ size model aspiring to be signed with the biggest names in the country and internationally. My work has just started and I cannot wait for the world to see my work
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all , from racism to being bullied and lack of self confidence I had to grow past all of that . Reading books and looking up to people with similar stories definitely gave me confidence that I can do anything i put my mind to
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a plus size model and content creator . What sets me apart is that I don’t look like anyone else especially from where I come from. I’m the first one in my family to go the non traditional way about life and I’m not stopping until I reach my goals
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Definitely. This life is short. Tell people you love them more . I lost my dad because of covid , the person who brought us here . It’s been tough but I know he’s still with us
