Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Leyva.
Hi Laura, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started doing photography with my family and friends, after that was done, I didn’t know how to continue growing in the industry. Then, I started pursuing something different. I was a vendor at a pop-up for The Social Chica selling t-shirts, and then I saw someone photographing the event, and something sparked! I had the opportunity to be the photographer at several of The Social Chica events, and the opportunities with different people have continued.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think it’s ever a smooth road, everything comes with its challenges. For me it has definitely been to push myself to do things that I never done before or shoot in different locations or trying different types of photography…
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer; I specialize in family photography, kids, birthdays, maternity, seniors, branding, and events, and now I’m venturing into elopements!
I’m definitely most proud of how far I’ve come and the beautiful people I’ve met along the way.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I would say my most surprising fact is that I’m a mother if 5! I love my big family, and it definitely comes with its challenges for both work and personal life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
