Hi Michelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
It started off in 2019 while we were in quarantine; we were trapped in our homes, and I had nothing to do, so I started to play with my makeup a lot, and I also used my sister as my doll. Back then, it never went through my mind that this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. After I graduated in 2022, I enrolled in cosmetology school; months later, I realized I didn’t want to color hair or cut, and I dropped out because I knew makeup was what I wanted to do. One day, out of the blue, my mom showed me a job application that the 2girls1brushbeauty was hiring assistants to do hair and makeup, and I just knew I couldn’t miss it, and now, a whole year later, here I am still working with. Tess and Amber, my bosses, have taught me so many new things about hair and makeup that I had no clue about. Honestly, I wouldn’t be here without them, and I’m so grateful for them.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, I can humbly and gratefully say that it’s been a smooth road for me, and hopefully, it stays that way. I’ve had little to no problems with clients because I’ve always tried to please them, but I’ve also been blessed with amazing clients.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a hair and makeup artist. I specialize in cut crease full glam looks, but because I work with the 2girls1brush beauty, I’m booked in a lot of weddings. As a humble person I can say that I’m not really known yet, but I’d love for people to know me for being a sweet young artist who is amazing at full glams!! I’m so proud of how far I’ve gone as a 19-year-old. I started taking clients at 18 and I just remember being so shy, being scared of even being booked because I was so scared of being rejected. I was so scared of people judging me for following a dream that not a lot of people would go for. But now look at me now, a year later, getting booked every weekend; it’s just a blessing!
What matters most to you?
My family matters most to me the most anything else comes after them. I shouldn’t have to explain why they do. Honestly, it’s obvious they are my world nothing, and nobody could overcome the love I have for my blood
