Today we’d like to introduce you to Tristan Johnson Sr.
Hi Tristan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
8409 Media began just at COVID epidemic May 2020. I was already freelance photographer and helping out others in their production projects. I wanted something I can do anywhere, anytime, and reach the world to showcase my creativity thru the lens and, most importantly, something I can leave as legacy and also build with my son Tristan Jr. Things started off subtle but after studying my camera and learning algorithm, people were quickly attracted to my photography and loved how I took each session and gave it its own thumbprint to be unique from the next. From that point on, it was like magic. 8409 Media was born and took off, and under that name are many other niches due to the main success. 8409 Sports, 8409 Mag, 8409.tv,8409 Films, and newest and trending in its own right, 8409 Modeling. It’s been an amazing journey these 3 and half years, and we are taking media and making it a one-stop shop, a one-stop learning experience, and giving a full-blown production every time I pick up my Canon cameras. We have had so many opportunities and published numerous times in 3 different countries. like my slogan says, “…snap every moment.” I mean just that. Personal content to business marketing, we are here for everyone. I am truly grateful for ppl to see my work, get feedback, and be published in an editorial… I am just thankful, and all glory to God.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Any time you do anything in this creative world where everything is easily access, you open yourself to criticism. I haven’t had the worst road to where I am. It has actually been a 90/10 smooth-to-rocky ratio. I credit this to my amazing 8409 Media family. I have a great cast of individuals who support and always proactive when I need them. And more importantly I always am for who I am working with. Most photographers want you to adapt to their styles. I am always open to learn my clients and infuse creativity. Because these are shared creative experiences. I love to learn. And being a people person, businessperson, and open-minded makes for a smoother experience.

I am most proud of everything. I love being a photographer. I love people anxiously waiting for chance to create with me. That’s the most humbling feeling.
What sets me apart from others is I’m open minded to other creative outlooks on my work. I am also the face of my brand, where others hide away with symbols or graphics. My pricing and also my productive outlook on getting full media experiences when doing photography. Letting the world see the mayhem before the magic, and the most thing set me apart is I’m original and authentically myself. I am only in competition with myself.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
God always deserves all the credit. I wouldn’t be where I am without God’s grace, love, and guidance.
My mentor, Eric Brinkley Sr, is someone who has been there since before I had my first photoshoot for 8409 Media. I can contact him 24/7 and he will always advise me on photography and also in life.
My son Tristan Jr., aka Mr09Media, for always being my right hand. 8409 Media’s name came from my birth year, 1984, and his birth year, 2009. So proud of the photographer he is becoming and always at every event doing his part and taking charge of projects.

Kerrie Eyman who is one of my main host for interviews. She is an amazing model and actress as well. She is always like a big sister.
Nicole Urbina, who got me this editorial, one of my brand models and someone who always help coordinate at our events
Abigail Wright is an amazing photographer and one of my brand mates. She is always there for me and one of my best friends.
My 8409 Modeling brand models they are all amazing at what they do. Adore and love them so much for making my visions come true.
And so many affiliates who I have partnered with or work with have all gave me so much insight and different perspectives that I use in my business.
My loving business partner, who is my girlfriend and love of my life Taylor. She has been such a supportive figure in my life she is always there and she knows the grind behind the scenes and she always makes everything better and puts everything in perspective. She keeps me whole. She is truly my better half thru and thru. Love you
