Meet Cierra Hargers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierra Hargers.

Cierra Hargers

Hi Cierra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A little about me: I am a wife and mother to three amazing boys. I enjoy traveling, reading, music, and being creative. My introduction to beauty did not start as most do. I received my start in the working world when I was 19 in banking while attending Tarleton State University. After this, I continued in banking from customer service, personal banking, home equity loans, and was eventually promoted to a Senior Loan Coordinator position. Three years passed, and 40% of the company and I were let go on a Zoom call due to restructuring.

When this happened, I was devastated! I had no clue what I was going to do. I started exploring everything I liked to do as a child, and BOOM, Alure Beauty Studio was created. I’m currently finishing up PMU school, perfecting my craft, and learning how to provide the highest level of customer service I possibly can.

Documenting this full experience of becoming a professional makeup artist has been very beneficial for me. The love and support that I have received from strangers has turned me into a HUGE “girl’s girl”! I’ve connected with so many people either starting their makeup journey or offering pro tips, and it inspires me to give back to the beauty industry as well. In the end, I do plan on opening up a makeup school within Fort Worth that will not only teach you how to apply makeup but how to market, scale, and grow your business.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, honestly; I had no idea where to start. There is an overload of information on the internet about how to become a makeup artist. If you are to go down the rabbit hole of trial and error, it can get pretty costly. My journey started on YouTube University, and when I felt like I needed more I sought out a school in my city that specialized in makeup. I wanted to not only do glam, but SFX, as well so it was important for me to be well-versed while seeking further education.

I think just shifting through the information would be the toughest part, but this is why I wanted to document this process heavily to help out others wanting to become professional makeup artist.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Natural Glam. Red Carpet ready but very natural and polished is the goal for every application. Any everyday glam, pop of color, or bridal looks are my favorite. I love enhancing a client’s natural beauty. There is nothing better. With that being said, I am versed in other makeup looks, including SFX, Dramatic Cut Crease, Halloween makeup, Festival, and Editorial.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
BET ON YOURSELF! Believing that I can has been the most liberating feeling that I have ever experienced.
