Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Ramirez.
Hi Adriana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been a somewhat crafty person, but I had never put myself to the test the way that I did with my baby shower when I was pregnant with my son. I couldn’t really afford to get fancy invitations, decorations, or even baby announcement cards, so I made them all myself. I eventually made some items for other moms, posted them on Facebook, and little by little, I started getting requests to make things in exchange for items I needed as a parent at the time or for actual cash! It was so exciting.
Eventually, I got requests to make things that I had never made before, and just like that, my experience grew, and now I make more than just party invitations and decor. I also make custom gifts, business marketing supplies, logos…I even teach others how to do what I do now! It’s been such a wild ride, but so much fun has been had along the way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Most of my struggles were in the beginning because my business actually came about from me becoming a single mom. So, with that being said, it was so hard trying to grow a business with an infant always at my side, and then as he grew, so did the business. It was hard essentially raising 2 babies, you know? But I crafted when I could, and I eventually chose to start a YouTube channel to teach others how to do what I did, and that was hard, too. No one really talks about how hard it is to naturally get followers on any platform, for that matter, but especially YouTube. Once that took off, though, I realized I really loved teaching others and decided to start a Patreon for those wanting to learn from me. That was also a bump in the road because I am completely self-taught in all matters of my business and had to learn how to build onto my website, how to build a strong enough following, and how to share my templates with others. It has not been easy by any means, but everything I’ve been able to do so far has shown me just how strong and capable I really am.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in custom party supplies, business supplies, custom gifts, templates, and so much more. I believe that part of what sets my business apart from others is that I don’t simply follow the trends out there. There are so many trends that take over, and I honestly just can’t stand them. I stick to what I know because it’s what I’m good at, and it’s what people have come to expect of me. Clients know that when they come to me for something, they are going to get an amazing design, high-quality products, and a loving handmade touch. These are things you can’t simply get off Amazon. As I’ve always stated, I might not be the first in coming up with something, but I’m definitely going to be the best!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories are filled with all things creative. I used to create custom clothes for my Barbies out of paper towels. I know, I know! It’s both hilarious and amazing! I would make stuff, like a computer or a phone out of cardboard. I would sit at a keyboard and just type away as if I was someone’s secretary. Anything creative or office-y, I loved! It just brought me so much joy, and I think it’s wild that I grew up to be this creative person who types away on her laptop while she grows her own personal business!
