Exploring Life & Business with Casey Carr of Sharon Carr Travel & Globe Trek Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Carr.

Casey Carr

Hi Casey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My sister and I were born into the travel industry, and I have never really known anything different. After college I spent time working in the cruise industry before joining Sharon Carr Travel full time in 2003. In 2012, I began creating promotional films for the travel & tourism industry and launched my company, Globe Trek Productions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The travel industry has faced significant challenges & struggles since I hitched my wagon to it in 2003. Most notably, the financial collapse of 2008 and, of course, Covid in 2020, which affected the travel industry arguably more than any other. We weathered those storms with the support of our loyal clients, many of whom have traveled with us for generations.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
At Sharon Carr Travel, we are a full-service travel agency helping people to plan their dream vacations. 2024 is our 55th Anniversary, and in that time, we have sent more than half a million people to all corners of the globe. We are a high-profile company in Dallas thanks to our radio programs spanning more than 50 years with KVIL & Ron Chapman, KLUV Radio, and currently the KRLD World Tour on New Radio 1080 KRLD. I’ve been the “travel guru” on ABC’s Good Morning Texas for many years, plus other media appearances throughout the year, including recently on the Today Show. We are true Travel Specialists, with most of our staff having decades of experience and destination & product knowledge. Whether you are planning a honeymoon, a short getaway, a family cruise or a safari in Africa, our seasoned staff can help you to plan the perfect vacation to suit your unique preferences. Most importantly, planning your vacation with a Sharon Carr Travel Specialist is completely free; it doesn’t cost you anything to use an expert.

At Globe Trek Productions, we are storytellers working primarily in the Travel & Tourism and Music industries. Our goal is often to capture the real experiences of travelers – the emotion, joy, and awe – and convey those feelings to the audience. We have produced films for cruise lines and tour companies on every continent. Check out our music series with the Dallas Observer called “Busking.”

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We love the Dallas community; we find that the people who live here are often adventurous with open hearts and minds. What do we like least about Dallas? The heat and the traffic. We are too crowded; the DFW metroplex has more people than all of Colorado!
