Life & Work with Alexis Mollé

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Mollé.

Alexis Mollé

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey started a little less than a year ago. I was stuck in a job that just didn’t fill my cup. I needed to find my passion! After bringing up my feelings toward my current role, my husband, Cameron, asked me, “What is it you actually want to do? If you could pick anything, what would it be?” I mentioned that I would love to work in a flower shop but wanted to dream bigger. His response put this entire journey into action. “Well, instead of working in a flower shop, why not start a flower shop of your own?” I had always dreamed of doing something creative, so that statement, along with quite a bit of Cameron’s support, made that dream my new reality. Over the next few weeks, I had started an LLC, obtained many different licenses and certificates, and officially launched my brand-new floral business just a week before Valentine’s Day!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, I would say the road has been smooth, with only a few bumps here and there. I have no prior business experience, so starting an LLC completely on my own has been tricky. There are so many different forms and papers that you need that you have most likely have never heard of before, but there are so many amazing people out there ready to help! I have found mentors in the strangest of places and will always be so thankful for their guidance. In the flower world, the designing is the easy part! There are so many things that go on behind the scenes before the pretty flowers actually make it out the door. I am learning as I go and embracing the challenges now to help myself grow in the future.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My company is called The Pink Peony Florist. We are a home-based florist in Corinth, Texas. I am the owner, the designer, the buyer, the delivery girl, and everything in between!

The motto that my business will always live by is “spreading joy across North Texas” because I want each person who opens their door to a beautiful arrangement of flowers to smile. Flowers are sent for all types of reasons, some happy, some sad, and I want to make sure that the flowers that arrive at your door or are set up at your special event, bring you joy!

So far, I am most proud of my growth! I am self-taught, so I am learning as I go! I have always had an eye for design, but it has been so fun to see my craft grow even in this short time. I know I will look back a year from now, or even five years from now, and see that growth just blossom even more.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a girly girl; I loved all things pink (still do) and spent most of my time playing with Barbie’s or dolls. I was in dance and cheerleading most of my life and have always had an interest in all things creative. I loved to color, paint, redecorate, and as I got older, I had a passion for fashion. The creative bug has always been a part of me, so to imagine myself as a little girl, seeing where I am now, and getting to have the job that I do every day just brings my heart so much joy!
