Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Nicole Larson
Hi Megan Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a personal trainer and I own an online rodeo media outlet called Talk Rodeo To Me.
I became a personal trainer after I graduated from college in 2011 and started my own business coaching clients online and in person.
I starting become a Western influencer and advocate for rodeo in 2020. In Feb 2024 I split ways from my former business partner to form my own online rodeo media outlet, Talk Rodeo To Me. It is a company committed to growing and supporting the sport of rodeo to keep it alive for the next generation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Neither business has been an easy road.
Becoming a personal trainer is not simply getting one certification. It involves multiple certifications and being willing to be mentored and seeking out mentors in the industry. Fitness and nutrition are constantly changing as new information and scientific studies are being published and you need to stay up-to-date.
Getting involved as a western influencer really involves finding your space in this industry. You cannot be a copy/paste of someone else. You need to find what truly resonates with you and what your authentic voice is. For me, I’m not a big fashion person the western fashion niche didn’t feel right but when I started to diversify to rodeo and tapping into my humor and funny, rodeo reels, and TikTok. That’s when I found my place.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Talk Rodeo To Me?
Talk Rodeo To Me is not just another rodeo media outlet. It is a company committed to supporting and growing in the sport of rodeo to keep it alive for the next generation. We cover rodeos and jackpots, big and small in the United States, Canada, and Australia. We also have a team of featured athletes and have partnered with companies that help provide resources to the rodeo community from help with sobriety and mental health issues to fitness and nutrition for rodeo athletes.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Majority of the podcast that I listen to are for entertainment, with the exception of sermons that I listen to online from my church. I usually try to start my morning out with a sermon to set this tone for the day but most of the podcast I listen to are for entertainment purposes
