Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Wright.
Hi Carla, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m a professional dancer and coordinator for Curvy Queenz of Dallas, INC. I joined in June 2018; we are a curvy and plus-sized dance team and a nonprofit organization. Our motto: “Dance has no size.” We do a lot for our community, i.e., feeding the homeless, Christmas toy drive, career Day at elementary schools, and back to school drive.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every organization will have their ups and downs. As for me, it has been a smooth road within our sisterhood. We inspire so many people in what we do. If or whenever I may face an obstacles/challenge I can talk to my director with no judgment.
As you know, we’re big fans of Mamacarlasalsaandtea. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I started my business in June 2021. It started with just making my salsa and tea for friends, family, and for gatherings. My family and friends really encouraged and supported me to pursue into making it a business of my own. I’m very proud of the feedback and the joy on their faces, saying, “It’s so good!” My salsa and tea is made with pure love and amazing energy.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by never giving up on your dreams. Do not get discouraged; you could have a thousand “no” and then hear that one “yes” and begin to flourish into your success.
