Today we’d like to introduce you to Aundrea Renee’.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, hello everyone! First, I would like to say thank you so much for this opportunity. I really appreciate it! So…Growing up on the East Coast, in Philadelphia hairstyling was major in the community. “Philly” is one of the largest trending cities when it comes to hair and fashion. I was inspired by my Aunt Felicia at the age of ten while working with her as a shampoo assistant. A few years went by and I tried to get away from the hair industry because I wanted to explore other career options. I tried different things in the corporate world but I just couldn’t seem to find anything that would give me that joy!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly speaking, I’ve definitely had both obstacles and challenges. It takes a lot of strength, courage, wisdom, and discipline. I always encourage myself to push forward. Moving to a new state and revamping a business, you face the fear of inconsistency with clientele, staying abreast of trends, and making enough revenue to keep the business open. I do struggle with being consistent on social media. That is definitely on my grow list for this year. What I’ve learned is to remember WHO I am, never doubt my strength when I know that I am giving my all, and to ALWAYS remain firm in where my help comes from. Overall, I can say that I have been favored with surpassing all of those fears each day!
We’ve been impressed with Aundrea Renee’ Hair Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Aundrea Renee’ Hair Studio is a hair salon that takes pride not only in hair care, but in helping women find their inner beauty. When you walk in, you will find inspiring quotes, warm reception and leave with an encouraging word. My experience has made me the go-to person for hair growth, sew-in extensions, color, weaves, custom wigs, precision cuts, silk press and alopecia services.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
There are several important factors to building an audience on social the first is consistency. Honestly, that is where I struggle the most, remembering to post inspirational messages, remembering to take pictures of my clients for fresh content.
I have learned that being consistent with your location means a lot. I have only been in two locations during my five years of business here in Texas. Which was from Fort Worth to Arlington and it was for an upgrade in space. Offering new services to clients, such as tape-ins, micro links, i-tips and on the go hat wigs has been good for my business as well.
Last but not least, it’s VERY important to be yourself, it’s ok to look to other stylist for tips but never allow anyone else to dictate the worth of your gift or how far it can go…
