Today, we’d like to introduce you to Quentan McGuire.
Hi Quentan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Being from Houston, Texas, where everything is bigger, so were my dreams! I attended a liberal arts college as an undergrad, studying acting in Los Angeles, California. There began my journey of telling stories. Swiftly, I understood my gifts and talents.
Best served behind the camera as a Film & TV Producer. For the next decade, I set out to study and educate myself on the business side of the Entertainment business. I am blessed to have studied under phenomenal executive producers. Dr. Holly Carter is known for sensations like The Clark Sisters, the hit TV series Kingdom Business, and much more! Fortunate to have grown while maturing my experience, creativity, and passion for telling stories of underserved voices in the black and brown community.
This inspired me to begin independent production and form my production agency, The Daraja Agency (Which is Swahili for bridge). Joining forces with my producing partner, Novi Brown, from the hit Tyler Perry Sistas, currently airing on BET Network. We are creating stories that not only edify black and brown voices but also share their experiences and beautiful complexities, layers, and brilliance. Our mission is through storytelling. We will connect the African diaspora through entertainment, engagement, and education.
Off the screen, I am residing in Houston, Texas, where I am a licensed REALTOR with the Office of Jason T. Hyman, where we are telling and sharing a different story through building wealth through real estate! Through campaigns such as Do The Things That Matter, that embodies a community of developers, investors, and community stakeholders that’s redeveloping and revitalizing their communities.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth road? I had to pave a road! The journey is filled with twists, turns, and surprises. I am learning no matter what the obstacle may be or the lesson may teach. One has to stay grounded and remain in one’s principles and values that one has set for one’s own personal story.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, can discourage you from fulfilling that purpose you’ve set for your own personal story. All things are here to teach us, to mature us into extraordinaires. We are.
All starts from the inside and manifests outwardly, so I ensure I’m building on solid ground. My faith is my key, and the love of Jesus has kept and guided me through it all, and I’m grateful to abide in that love daily.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Office of Jason T. Hyman. What can you tell our readers who might not be as familiar with the brand?
Outside of fighting to get black and brown stories on screen in my Film & TV producing role. I would like to take this moment to highlight a critical and important issue. Currently, the wealth gap for black and brown families in regard to homeownership is extremely wide.
It is critical that we all know our resources and attainable ways of building wealth and legacy for future generations to come. I am a realtor who resides in Houston, Texas, and also who is able to assist in neighboring cities, such as DFW, Austin, and San Antonio. There are ample resources that can help attain home ownership in the midst of high prices and high interest rates.
There are still creative ways that we can attain home ownership and very sustainable attainable strategies. I’m a residential specialist with Realinc’s Office of Jason T. Hyman. A natural storyteller, I’m gifted with the ability to conceptualize clients’ need for connection with their space and others. Also, my intent is to make each transaction an opportunity to build a legacy for generations to come.
As a native Houstonian with deep roots on the Northeast side of town and a strong millennial network throughout the city, from LGBTQIA advocacy to my running club, I’m intentional about identifying places that support others in achieving their life and lifestyle goals.
I see real estate as an opportunity to thrive at each stage in life, and I am excited to be on the mogul journey with every client entrusted to my care.
