Meet Mente Bezuneh of Mentopia Productions

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Mente Bezuneh.

Mente Bezuneh

Hi Mente, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where my love for storytelling began. My favorite childhood memory is the morning walks to school with my mom and little brother. Every morning, my mom would wake up early, ensuring everything was for the day. She packed our lunches, ensured we had breakfast, and got our school supplies ready before we headed out.

Our half-hour walk to school was a time for bonding and learning. My mom would tell us stories, share life wisdom, and chat with neighbors. I used to think she was famous because everyone wanted to talk to her. I can still feel her reassuring grip as she held our hands to keep us safe and on track. After school, she would be there with the same smile, ready to walk us back home, filled with laughter, chatter, and occasional treats from street vendors.

These morning walks were more than just a routine; they were about creating lasting memories and feeling the warmth of family love. Looking back, those moments are some of the best times of my life, filled with simple joys and deep connections.

Inspired by my passion for storytelling, I moved to the United States to pursue my filmmaking dreams. I graduated from Collin College and currently run the Creative team for a technology company called Axxess. In addition to this role, I founded Mentopia Productions, a company dedicated to bringing stories to life through photos and videos.

At Mentopia Productions, we offer a full range of services, including photography, videography, photo booth rentals, and live streaming. We specialize in creating cinematic visuals that tell compelling stories. Our commitment to quality work, guaranteed delivery times, and exceptional service set us apart in the industry.

I always say I’m blessed to do what I love and make a living out of it. I continue to embrace my passion for storytelling, capturing moments that create lasting memories for our clients.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. As someone who isn’t naturally outgoing, networking initially posed a significant challenge. While I enjoy socializing, I often run out of things to say beyond the usual greetings and small talk. This made it difficult to build the essential connections needed for success in our industry.

It also meant I initially had fewer creative friends in the industry, which wasn’t acceptable since I wanted to experiment and grow in the field. However, over time, I managed to step out of my shell and embrace the networking process, which has been crucial for our growth and success.

Forcing myself to attend networking events, engaging with people, and making myself available on social media platforms were pivotal steps. Networking has since opened doors to more creative collaborations, allowing Mentopia Productions to innovate and expand our offerings.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
