Meet Fallon LaFleur of LaFleur Law

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fallon LaFleur

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
To start at the very beginning would be to go back to my 5-year-old self who was fueled by a relentless need for justice and fairness, a quality I did not shake as an adult and guided my decision to become a lawyer.

Throughout law school, I trained in various criminal defense offices. During this time, my heart grew immensely for those accused of crimes. I had a passion for giving a voice to the voiceless and those society had cast aside. I followed this passion to my first job at a Public Defender’s Office where my passion and drive to make a difference in the lives of my clients only grew. A few years later, I took a job at a District Attorney’s Office where I learned the ins and outs of the other side of the system. Then in 2021, armed with all I had learned, I founded LaFleur Law, a criminal defense firm driven by a commitment to compassionate and zealous representation.

From the moment the practice opened its doors, LaFleur Law was more than just a law firm; it was a sanctuary for the accused, a beacon of hope in a system often plagued by injustice. I built a team of individuals who weren’t just in it for the paycheck, but who believed in the inherent dignity and constitutional rights of every human being. But our work didn’t stop in the courtroom. We dedicated ourselves to pro bono work, providing legal assistance to those who couldn’t afford representation.

Today, LaFleur Law stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to our clients and our belief in second chances. One mistake should not define a person. With a reputation for integrity, compassion, and excellence, we continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

From the firm’s humble beginnings, LaFleur Law quickly gained a reputation for excellence, compassion, and unwavering advocacy. Through a combination of legal expertise, tireless dedication, and a deep understanding of the intricacies of the legal system, LaFleur Law has secured victories for countless clients, both high-profile and those overlooked by society.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not! Becoming a lawyer came with its own challenges. While becoming a lawyer was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, law school was no east feat. The law school environment was demanding and came with an extraordinary pressure to excel. The work was challenging, and the reality of the upcoming bar exam was looming over the entire experience. As someone who never really had to study in school before, law school was a massive wake up call for me. However, it was due to the countless hours of studying, the sleepless nights grappling with complex legal concepts, and the constant fear of failure that I learned the power of my own determination to succeed. Today, I can happily report that I graduated with honors and at the top of my class.

Yet perhaps the greatest challenge came with the decision to start my own firm. The fear of the unknown, the uncertainty of whether I would succeed, and the weight of responsibility for the welfare of my clients all weighed heavily on my shoulders. But it was in facing these challenges head-on that I discovered my true strength and resilience, forging ahead with unwavering determination to turn my vision into reality and make a positive impact on the life of every person that comes through my office door.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
LaFleur Law provides zealous and exceptional legal representation to those facing misdemeanor and felony charges in Texas courts. Representing and protecting the rights of my clients is not just a job, it is my calling. I am dedicated to handling each case as if it were my own.

At LaFleur Law, we preach the importance of second chances because we firmly believe that one mistake should not tarnish your entire life. Being prosecuted by the government is a stressful and frightening event. The government’s resources are unlimited and the prosecutors are assisted by powerful government agencies such as the FBI and local law enforcement such as city police or county sheriffs. You need an experienced and dedicated lawyer in your corner.

There are three things that separate LaFleur Law from other firms. First, clients and their cases are a priority. I will never accept a case unless I have the time to be fully devoted to it. That means being available to guide clients through the process, talk over any big decisions, and explain things that are confusing. Anytime a client wants to talk about their case, I am easily reached as all clients have my personal phone number. Second, I believe that there is always more to the story and I will find it. From my years of experience, I know that most cases are not what they seem and there is always another side of the story. I take time to thoroughly investigate the prosecution’s claims and put together favorable evidence for my clients. I always goes the extra mile; whether it’s visiting the crime scene or going door-to-door looking for witnesses, I will do what it takes to tell my client’s story and gain a favorable outcome. Third, I know how to get the outcome my clients want. My time spent as a prosecutor has helped me to better evaluate the facts involved in a case, and my ability to see a case from both sides aids me in leaving no legal stone unturned in developing a defense. I am often able to come up with creative strategies to give clients the best chance at receiving the most positive outcome. I understand the law and what is required to cast doubt on the arguments of prosecutors.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
While many may know me for my work as a dedicated lawyer and practice owner, what might surprise them is my involvement in cases of factual innocence. These are the cases of men and women who have been wrongfully convicted of serious offenses such as murder or sexual assault. In my work, my team and I have helped secure their release from death row. Delving into these cases required not only legal expertise but also a deep well of empathy and tenacity. People may be surprised to learn that behind the scenes, I tirelessly fought to unearth evidence, challenge faulty witness testimony and identification, and ultimately secure justice for those who had been failed by the system. It’s a side of my work that often goes unseen, but reflects my heart, care and concern for the inherent dignity and rights of every individual, irrespective of their circumstances.
