Today we’d like to introduce you to Bria Fleming
Hi Bria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a young age, I knew I wanted to establish my own company in the fashion and beauty industry. Makeup, hair, and clothing have always been integral to my life. As I matured, this dream became increasingly attainable. To fund my business, I initially worked in restaurants and nightclubs, saving diligently. My career in television significantly accelerated my progress. With a higher salary, I was able to launch Bria Beauty Lip Glosses. This venture not only allowed me to sell products but also enabled me to be a sponsor at my first charity event in Munich, Germany. After years of dedication, I am now poised to introduce a new product: a hair curling stick designed to maintain curls throughout the day and night. I am thrilled about this launch and eagerly anticipate the reactions from my fans, family, and friends.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey of developing and creating a business has not been smooth. Like any entrepreneurial endeavor, there have been failures, which I believe are part of the process and contribute to growth. One of the biggest challenges I faced was finding high-quality products, which required extensive testing and sampling. Additionally, securing sufficient funding to support this phase of development was a significant hurdle.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a TV personality on the Bravo network, featured on the show “Summer House Martha’s Vineyard.” My background in the arts, including acting and dancing from a young age, made my transition to reality TV seamless. This is my second show, with my first being “Stranded with a Million Bucks” on MTV. I was also featured in a Movie called Room203. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to work as a Playboy Bunny and did some modeling. Additionally, I studied film at Los Angeles City College, giving me a solid foundation in the film industry. What sets me apart from others is my diverse background and extensive experience in the entertainment industry. My early involvement in acting and dancing, combined with my roles on various reality TV shows, has provided me with a unique perspective and skill set. My experience as a Playboy Bunny and model, along with my formal education in film from Los Angeles City College, further distinguishes me. This blend of practical experience and academic training enables me to bring a unique and multifaceted approach to my work.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a mentor and building a strong network are crucial steps for personal and professional growth. Here are a few strategies that have worked well for me:
1. Leverage Industry Events: Attend conferences, workshops, and trade shows relevant to your field. These events are excellent opportunities to meet industry leaders and potential mentors.
2. Utilize Social Media: Platforms like LinkedIn are valuable for connecting with professionals in your industry. Engage with their content, join relevant groups, and don’t hesitate to reach out with thoughtful questions or comments.
3. Join Professional Organizations: Becoming a member of industry-specific organizations can provide access to a network of experienced professionals and mentorship programs.
4. Seek Out Networking Opportunities: Participate in networking events, both in-person and virtual. Be proactive in introducing yourself and following up with new contacts.
5. Be Open to Learning: Approach potential mentors with genuine curiosity and a willingness to learn. Demonstrate your commitment and enthusiasm for the industry.
Personally, building relationships through my work in television and my business ventures has been instrumental. Engaging with colleagues, attending industry events, and actively participating in professional communities have all contributed to my network and access to valuable mentors.
