Today we’d like to introduce you to Andres Garcia
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my barbering journey in March 2020, during the COVID lockdown, at the age of 17. As a high school junior, with everything shut down, friends and family needed haircuts, so I took it upon myself to keep them looking fresh. This sparked a passion for barbering, leading me to start barber school a year later. I graduated from both high school and barber school in 2021. I found a barbershop that nurtured my growth, and after working there for two years, I had the incredible opportunity to buy the shop and make it my own. Triple Threat Barbershop officially opened in January 2024, less than four years after I first picked up the clippers. I’m immensely grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given and can only thank God for enabling me to open up my own barbershop at the age of 21.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is still a struggle being young and owning my own shop. I had to mature and learn fast because of all the responsibilities that come with owning a shop. Luckily I’ve met a lot of great barbers and business owners along the way to help guide me in the right direction. I’ve also had Ben Gamboa owner of Founders Barbershop as a great mentor for the past two years and he’s helped me every step of the way.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Most importantly my parents deserve major credit for my success. My parents risked their lives to come to this country from Mexico illegally to give my brothers and I a better life. They faced many hardships and sacrificed leaving behind family but all their hard work and perseverance has been my biggest motivation. My parents and step parents have always supported me every step of the way in my career and it’s because of them that I’ve had the opportunity to open up my own barbershop. Another person who deserves credit is my beautiful girlfriend Karen. She’s been there since the start of my career and saw all the hard work I’ve done to get here and there are countless times I feel overwhelmed and she’s always finding ways to take some pressure off my shoulders. She’s always cheering for me and gives me the confidence I need to overcome any obstacle that comes my way.
