Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Jacobs.
Hi Christian, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello. My name is Christian Jacobs, a 27 year old self taught makeup artist. I found the joy of skincare and makeup at a very young age; watching influential women around me doing their makeup! I grew up in a small town in Kansas and moved to Texas after graduating high school. From there, I found myself! My family always encouraged me to be myself and share my joys within my community! From there, I took the joy of sharing my skin care and makeup with others, transitioning that into work and a lifestyle!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing ever comes easy. Everything is a process! From color matching, blending, contouring, the list can go on and on. Within the process, I would take the tips of my influences and other makeup artists and make it into my own! By watching Youtube videos, sitting down watching my influences and makeup classes all helped me create my own craft!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like to say I can do anything I put my mind to, but I specialize in skin care and makeup! I’m known for natural makeup looks and perfecting my blending skills into making the final finish skin-like! That is what I am most proud of! Having the ability to color match and blend well enough, to the point people cannot tell if I am wearing makeup or not. It’s pleasing in a humorous way!
What matters most to you? Why?
Family! I am beyond blessed with such an uplifting, encouraging family who have always supported me with love, guidance and knowledge! I give so much credit to my mother, aunts and uncles because not everyone gets to experience a true family that wants to see the best for everyone! I could not express enough gratitude I have for them! Truly, a blessing!
