Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Grandell, BSc, FMCHC, CLT

Hi Gabrielle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been fascinated with food! The colors, textures, smells, tastes- it is all so amazingly unique! I went on to learn the multiple effects it has on the body, and became even more interested. I am also a very curious person and want to know “why” instead of simply “what.” This along with a passion for helping people and transformation led me to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics at Texas Woman’s University, I then began practicing clinical nutrition at Baylor University Medical Center. Despite the positive results, I felt the institution was behind on the science and prioritized profit over patients, leading me to functional nutrition in 2012. I was blessed to partner with a prominent Functional Medicine doctor in the Dallas area and she started me on the journey to getting to the root causes of sickness and symptoms in my own body and those I served.

I quickly realized that educating people on the connection between what they put in their bodies and how they feel was insufficient, so I pursued health coaching. I was part of the founding class and earned my certification as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC) at the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy (FMCA) in collaboration with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). I was also an adjunct faculty member at FMCA for two years.

Passionate about education, I continued to learn more about why the body may lose function and what it takes to restore it, and I achieved the following certifications:

One of the first National Board-Certified Health and Wellness (NBC-HWC) coaches in the United States, accredited by the International Consortium of Health and Wellness Coaching and the National Board of Medical Examiners

LEAP (Lifestyle, Eating and Performance) therapist – Group of nutritionists and Functional Medicine Practitioners that identify food sensitivities through testing and help people manage the findings

Reversing Cognitive Decline – Through FMCA in collaboration with Dr. Dale Bredesen, who specializes in Alzheimer’s. He is the author of “The End of Alzheimer’s” and established the ReCode Protocol

Methylation and Clinical Nutrigenomics in collaboration with Dr. Ben Lynch at Seeking Health. Focused on DNA and genetic predisposition and its connection to epigenetics and nutrigenomics. Gabrielle learned how behavior can affect our genetics; food and nutrients can influence how

I have also completed the following courses for the benefit of my clients:

Mastering Thyroid
Mastering Functional Blood Chemistry
Functional Endocrinology: Connecting New Research with Practical Applications
The Gluten, Leaky Gut, Autoimmune Connection

In 2017, I joined Living Well Dallas, a Functional Medicine Clinic, and have learned so much from my colleagues and friends over the last seven years. I started my own company in 2020 and have been on my self employed entrepreneurial journey ever since. I am so honored to be able to bring together so much of what I enjoy and call it a career, while helping optimize my health along with my clients and those around me.

The potential for a vibrant life is just on the horizon, and I am here to help others reach it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I think about some of the struggles along the way, a few thing come to mind….

Subjecting myself to scrutiny to speak out against the corruption in the traditional medical model and food industry for their influence in the illness and poor health outcomes we experience in our country.

The fear of failure I had in choosing to start my own company in 2020 when the world was turned upside down.

The complex level of sickness my clients are living with and the task of putting the pieces together for them to create health and wellness.

Working to help my clients understand why the treatments they have received from the mainstream medical establishment have not alleviated their symptoms, and in some case exacerbated them, and promoting an investment from them, both financially and energetically, to achieve the results they are seeking.

I know that healing is a journey, often a lifelong commitment to choosing nourishing choices daily to maintain optimal health. The journey isn’t always easy, but it is fulfilling to courageously show up and take an active stance in reclaiming your birthright to feel alive and well. I am here to support people in this, even though it can be tough.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Gabrielle Grandell ?
As the Gut Goddess, I strive to bridge the gap between spirituality and science and my focus is on digestive disorders and autoimmune issues. Conventional medicine has its merits but often provides only temporary relief. Unawareness about food quality, supplements, environmental toxins, side effects of medications, and the impact of stress is common. But that’s where I can help. I am not just a functional nutritionist and health coach; I am an educator determined to change the narrative around health.

I am passionate about transformation and believe in the healing power of nature to nourish us and that the farther we get from nature the closer we get to disease. Our bodies are amazing, extremely regenerative, and always want to work for us. If we give the body what it needs and take out what it doesn’t, it will most often perform for us at a high level. Why complicate things when we can return to the basics of quality air, water, food, community, movement, rest, play, love, and spirituality? This is how we were designed to live, not in sickness, but in wellness.

I want to be an advocate for my clients to understand their inherent strength and capability. Empowerment is at the heart of my practice. I strive to provide a sanctuary where my client’s voice is valued, and their health challenges are resolved. I am more than a listener; I offer encouragement and hope. I partner with my clients to initiate change, affirming that a better, healthier life is within reach. With my blend of knowledge, empathy, and practical solutions, I am ready to help you reclaim your life.

I approach my client’s health concerns from a broad perspective, taking into account all of the contributing factors throughout their entire life that has altered their health through the years. As a new client, you can expect me to delve into every aspect of your life, gently guiding you toward understanding why previous health strategies failed. I educate that every organ and system of the body has the potential to heal itself and to reset to healthy with the right guidance and an individualized plan. Together with my clients, I create these plans by listening to their story, knowing that every layer of trauma or suffering has led to what is being experienced currently. Only by addressing these underlying root causes are we able to create a path filled with solutions to restore function and create health and well-being. My customized treatment plans cater to your unique strengths and weaknesses, ensuring a personalized journey toward optimal health.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice would be to align with people that are running their businesses in the way that you would aspire to do, to give generously to others and remember what you have to share is a gift, and to resist the urge to wait until you have it all figured out and make moves to grow as much as possible.
