Life & Work with Diamond Jackson

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Jackson.

Diamond Jackson

Hi Diamond, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! I’m Diamond! I’m a licensed cosmetologist, Educator and Salon suites owner. Since a child, I have always had a passion for hairstyling. I knew at a very young age that I would be a hairstylist, own a salon and help women look and feel beautiful! In 2014 I started my journey in cosmetology, graduating in 2016, I opened my first salon and that was the beginning of me building a legacy.

From 2016-2022, my team and I serviced thousands of clients from Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and surrounding areas. In 2022, I felt God prompting me to expand. In May 2022, my daughter and I relocated to Frisco, TX where now have a salon suite and service clients in the DFW. The move has really opened my eyes and my heart to all of the possibilities this new market has to offer!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story. Has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I recently saw a post that said, “If you want to practice trusting God, become an entrepreneur.” I agree with that statement wholeheartedly. Entrepreneurship is not an easy road, but it can be rewarding. Personally, I have faced many obstacles over my 10-year span. When I first started this journey, the internet was popping up, but it was not like it is today. Entrepreneurship was still frowned upon. So, I started with hope and a prayer.

No real business plan or guidance. I could have avoided a lot of mistakes and saved a lot of money if I had mentorship. I’m grateful for where we are today in regard to social media and the internet. Every other person is an entrepreneur, and it’s much easier to draw inspiration from the people who are on the same path as you.

Thanks. What else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a licensed cosmetologist, salon suites owner, and educator specializing in Natural hair and Luxury Hair Extensions. I’m known for making women feel seen and heard. It’s deeper than hair. When my clients come into my salon, I want it to feel like home.

I want them to be able to let their hair down, literally, and just catch a break from the world. I’m most proud of the gifts that God has trusted me with to share with his people. It warms my heart to be able to connect with so many women from different walks of life. I truly love it.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
My goodness… COVID taught me to never ever put all of my eggs in one basket. Keep the ideas flowing and continue to create!
