Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Kopec
Hi Laura, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I developed a passion for healthy and natural living in college. Two careers later after almost a decade in teaching, I went back to school to learn more about alternative health. My love of teaching, my passion for natural health and wellness, and the combination of what I learned with my second masters degree became my style of helping others with their health. I have written a few books through the years, and a podcast over the past four years. After being a small solo business for over ten years, I added a Nurse Practitioner who practices Integrative Medicine a blend of functional and holistic and diagnostic (modern) medicine to our new model of a nutritional wellness center. Our motto here is to change the conversation around how a person can take charge of health as they learn about their body’s nutritional deficiencies and the impact food and supplements can have around their health concerns while getting better support.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Any business owner can tell you owning a business is not an easy road. It took several years of getting my business off the ground, and being a single mom added additional nuances. A few years ago, I became too busy and needed support staff. Many people want to optimize their health and help prevent a health crisis and my reputation had spread. I decided to move into a new location, add full time reception and assistant, add the NP and did this completely on my own without any additional financial resources. So when you do something like this, it is almost like starting over, and I had a long road in building the business again, this time in the new model. My next goals include reaching more people through our youtube channel, my podcast (4 years running now) and working on my next book (previous works includ Let’s Get Real about Eating, My Kids a Picky Eater, and The Linked Diet. My books can be found online with Barnes and Noble, as well as Amazon and my podcast Health Matters with Laura Kopec on all platforms.
As you know, we’re big fans of Kopec Functional Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our brand is about knowledge, strategies and support. We strive to help others know and understand their body in a totally new way. We specialize in many issues due to our expanded and unique look at conditions such as hormones, adrenal issues, autoimmune, thyroid, chronic issues, fertility, histamines to name a few. We set ourselves apart with being intentionally strategic, detailed and customized, and create plans that are empowering. We do not believe in using fear as a way of motivating others, we want to do this with knowledge and helping others understand their bodies. We strive for those to no longer ask “What is wrong with me?” Instead feel like the messages their body is speaking and sending them make sense and they can navigate their choices better. We are still more affordable than most of our competitors and this allows individuals to spend more time with us and allows them to add their family members to the wellness journey.
How do you think about happiness?
I am most happy with my family and seeing them thrive in their lives, and I am happy when I have the privilege of witnessing the human body transform when given an environment that best suits that person. I am also happy in the quiet times with a close friend. And I enjoy a really high quality meal filled with natural ingredients made with passion.
