Hidden Gems: Meet Marvin McKinney of Savvy Analytics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marvin McKinney

Hi Marvin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Texas and raised in California. My family emphasized early on the idea of working hard and the importance of education as my key to success.

Living in two states and several cities exposed me to other cultures and perspectives, so I never felt I should limit myself. My father reinforced the idea of never giving up, no matter how hard things get. I also used the example of my parents starting a business, my father receiving a master’s degree, and my parents continually pushing themselves to improve, which was inspirational.

I have always had a highly active imagination and a natural curiosity. My parents encouraged my discovery at an early age. I would go to museums with my father to learn about science. I also loved science fiction and the possibilities of where science could take humanity. I was deeply fascinated and wanted to help create the things I read about.

Savvy Analytics is a launchpad to create those ideas. Although we are an AI analytics consulting firm now, I desire to collaborate with our clients, identify problems, and build something new that solves problems for humanity using technology.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Learning and perseverance have taken me far. And, yes, I have experienced many challenges and expect to face many more. Going through challenges helps you develop, think, and build fortitude. I keep three words in my mind from my dad when encountering those situations: “Never give up.” The biggest struggles are conveying my vision to collaborators, having others execute in my time, and adapting to the fast rate of technology.

The common denominator in each of these challenges was learning patience and grace. I must be patient when conveying my ideas and give grace for misunderstandings. And I must have patience and grace with myself when learning and adapting to recent technologies. I measure my progress against the person I was yesterday, and against no one else.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Savvy Analytics is a Data Analytics company focused on streamlining business operations for small and medium-sized businesses, using automation, and providing time-saving tools. As a business owner, I think the most precious resource you have is time, and the second is money. We aim to save our clients both.
The services we offer our clients are Data & AI Strategy, Automation of time-consuming tasks, AI implementation, and Business Intelligence services, specifically creating data dashboards for visualization of how your company is performing.

Data & AI Strategy:

We take time to understand where our clients are at and where they want to go and bridge that gap. If you do not know where to start or your company is stuck in making data driven decisions, or how to implement AI effectively and responsibly, we can support you in this journey.

Automation:

We take time-consuming tasks and understand them, then find automation tools to eliminate the time associated with them. I recently had a potential client, a CTO, who was looking to offload some accounts receivable and accounts payable manual tasks. They seemed very tired and overwhelmed. And this is who this service is geared towards. And just a sample of what we can do to free your time!

Artificial Intelligence (AI):

We believe that AI is an indispensable tool, and it will be as necessary as the internet, mobile, and cloud for businesses in the near future. However, we want to ensure that it is understood and implemented properly as part of our company values. Keeping humans in the loop is vital. Currently, we develop Chatbots for our clients. However, we are planning to roll out AI Agents that can be proactive and assist our clients.

Business Intelligence (BI):

All the technology we mentioned above is amazing and vital. However, the first step is to understand the basics. How is your company performing? How are your sales? What is the churn rate of your customer base? We want our customers to think about this first, and then we can help visualize this for your company.

I really want clients to know we are here to take the challenging, repetitive tasks off your plate. What sets us apart from others is the ability to understand our client’s needs and execute tasks. We have tools that are easy to set up and adapt. We aim for simplicity and adaptability. We are not a one-size-fits-all-all company. Every company has a unique set of needs and challenges for their company. We can manage and monitor all of these services for our clients and simplify seemingly complicated tasks.

However, I do not want Savvy to be just another consulting firm. I want it to be a mechanism of creation as well. When your only goal is to serve up a project to clients, you miss an opportunity to collaborate. And part of my desire for this company is not just to build my vision but hopefully to build other’s visions as well.

I think the coolest thing you should know is that I named it after my dog, Savvy. The branding colors are based on her colors, as a dog she is intelligent, loyal, and protective. Those are great traits to have for people and a company.

To understand who we are and what we represent it is also important to understand our Mission, and values. At Savvy Analytics, we do not just see ourselves as an analytics firm; we view ourselves as serving the business community. Our core philosophy is grounded in the belief that our actions should strive for positive social and economic impacts, transcending mere business objectives. At Savvy Analytics, our vision extends far beyond the realm of conventional analytics. We aspire to be pioneers in the development of data-driven products and autonomous entities that not only revolutionize industries but also have a profound and positive impact on society. Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
