Conversations with Elena Fedorchenko-Tsukanova

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Elena Fedorchenko-Tsukanova.

Elena Fedorchenko-Tsukanova

Hi Elena, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I’m Elena. My family and I moved to the USA from Italy eight years ago, where we had lived for a few years. Originally, we are from Moscow, Russia. I adore our current location and the people here in Dallas!

Throughout my life, two passions have always been central to me: design and social media. Back in my home country, I worked as an interior designer for commercial spaces. Upon moving to the US, I met a friend, and together, we founded an interior design company, where we collaborated for two years.

However, my long-time aspiration has been to become a blogger, influencing and motivating people to improve their lives. Balancing two careers was challenging, prompting me to make a decision: to pursue professional blogging. On January 1, 2023, I announced on Instagram my decision to become an influencer and began growing my presence there. Since then, I’ve been sharing my lifestyle, doing what I love, and enjoying life like never before.

Since then, I’ve been dedicated to growing my Instagram presence and showcasing my passions and daily life. It’s a journey that demands continuous learning and adaptation. My goal is to expand my influence, connecting with as many followers as possible to share knowledge, positivity, and motivation.

Blogging is more than a job to me; it’s a commitment to fostering a community and making a meaningful impact. I’m grateful for every follower who joins me on this journey and values their engagement deeply. Feedback from my community is invaluable—it fuels my growth and helps me tailor my content to resonate even more.

Thank you to everyone who follows along, engages with my content, and supports my journey. Your attention means the world to me, and I look forward to continuing to inspire and connect with each of you.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For me, there have been three main challenges:

Firstly, English has been a significant hurdle. Until recently, I couldn’t imagine doing a voiceover for my reel. I was hesitant and afraid of being judged when speaking English. However, when I landed my first collaboration where a voiceover was required, I had to face my fear head-on. Overcoming this obstacle has made it much easier for me now.

Secondly, balancing work and family life has been tough. With three kids and a husband, finding the right balance between work commitments and spending quality time with my family is a constant challenge.

Lastly, dealing with low engagement and losing followers can be disheartening. It’s something all creators go through, and it can be tough not to take it personally.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
As a lifestyle and fashion blogger, I specialize in creating shoppable content on Instagram, including reels, posts, and stories that feature trendy outfits, home finds, local places, and more.

My followers can easily shop for everything they see on my Instagram because I post all the links on a special platform called LTK. I am known for my positive energy and my dedication to sharing it with my friends and followers.

I am most proud of the community I have built through my blog and social media channels and the positive impact I’ve had on my followers’ lives. Additionally, I am proud of organizing a successful event for Russian-speaking women, which I consider a significant achievement.

My bilingualism sets me apart from others—I speak both English and Russian fluently. Recently, I was interested in purchasing a course from a company where the selling point was that the instructor spoke both English and Russian.

I thought, “That’s awesome! If I don’t understand something in the course, I can ask in Russian!” This ability to connect and communicate effectively in two languages is a unique advantage I bring to my work.

Are any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
