Hi Mona, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Starting my own cosmetic line has been a lifetime dream. I’ve always been passionate about beauty and cosmetics, and anyone who knows me can tell you that it’s something I’ve spoken about a lot. Growing up watching my mother wear makeup and having the joy of applying makeup to others, seeing their reactions, really fueled my passion. In May 2022 marked a turning point for me; I left a job I once loved to focus on my mental health. During that time, with the support of my husband and children, I decided to turn my dream into a reality. By October 2022, I launched my cosmetic line MBB, finally bringing my dream from my notebook to life
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The transition was challenging but rewarding. Leaving a place I loved was difficult, but focusing on my mental health was a necessary step. It allowed me to spend quality time with my family and gain the clarity and strength I needed. With unwavering support from my husband and children, I found the courage to pursue my dream. It was a lot of hard work and required a leap of faith, but seeing my vision come to life made it all worth it. Starting a business is never easy, and I faced many challenges along the way. From managing finances to marketing and everything in between, there were moments of doubt and uncertainty. However, my determination and passion for cosmetics kept me going. The support from my husband and children was crucial, they believed in me when I needed it most. I also listened carefully to my customers feedback and continuously adapted to meet their needs. Persistence and a strong support system were key to overcoming these challenges.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have been a licensed cosmetologist for over a decade, specializing in enhancing natural beauty and celebrating individuality through makeup.
My business, MBB (Mona Beauty Bee), Specialize in creating a variety of beautiful, stunning and blinged-out cosmetics that make every customer feel special. I believe that makeup is more than just a routine it’s an art form, a celebration of diversity, and a canvas for self-expression.
I am most proud of the fact that, as a single individual, I have been able to build and run MBB from the ground up. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see how my passion for cosmetics and dedication to celebrating every shade, style, and identity has resonated with so many people.
What sets MBB apart is our commitment to inclusivity and our focus on creating products that bring joy and confidence to our customers. I am most proud of the positive impact MBB has on our community, from the smiles on our customers’ faces to the support we offer each other. Our products are not just about looking good but feeling good and celebrating the unique beauty in everyone.
It’s heartwarming to know that my products bring joy and empowerment to so many people.
What are your plans for the future?
I have big plans for the future! I want to continue expanding our product range and ensuring that we cater to all beauty needs. I’m committed to keeping an open line of communication with my customers, welcoming their feedback and suggestions.
