Conversations with Kara Frison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kara Frison

Hi Kara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely. . . From a young age, I have loved words. My parents are retired educators, so they nurtured my love for reading, which grew into a desire to share my thoughts and ideas through poems and blog posts. Over time, friends and colleagues started contacting me to help polish their writing as well. When it got to the point where people were willing to pay for my assistance, the idea of Bright-Eyed Solutions was born.
The story behind the name: My maternal grandfather was responsible for giving all of the grandchildren our nicknames. When I was born, “Bright Eyes” was given to me. As a writer and speaker, I like to play with/on words. To be “bright-eyed and bushy-tailed” means to be alert, happy, and energetic. The company’s name lets people know that while Bright Eyes is my nickname, I am enthusiastic about serving others and helping them to produce high-quality work.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I honestly feel like I’m just getting started. My main struggle has really been a matter of me getting out of my own way. I’m recognizing the fact that no one will know what I am capable of, if I don’t say anything. I am becoming more comfortable with marketing myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’d actually love to answer this in reverse. What sets me apart from others would be a combination of my heart for people and my attention to detail. Regardless of the environment in which I am working, I always want my clients and teammates to feel seen, heard, and valued. I want them to know that I care about them and their vision. I’ve been told that I ask questions and address concerns other people may not consider. That helps me to be effective as well.
I am most proud of the fact that I’ve challenged myself to work on a variety of projects. While Bright-Eyed Solutions is primarily known for proofreading and editing services, those areas are not our totality. Our motto is “Helping you to see the big picture while remembering the little things.” Whether providing administrative consultations, assisting with event planning and execution, or editing and proofreading a children’s book or novel, I strive to be thorough so that my clients are pleased with the final product. I feel honored to have clients who trust me to help bring their visions to life!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
This is an easy answer. . . “Never limit myself or shrink back!” Some of the best advice I’ve received was to use all of my God-given gifts and talents. Rather than boxing myself in, I aim to flow like water. As I do that, I have been blessed to watch my gifts make room for me. (Proverbs 18:16)
