Inspiring Conversations with Kyira Tyler – Cox of ThirdBase Athleisure

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyira Tyler- Cox

Kyira, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
ThirdBase began from a deeply personal realization that wellness is more than physical fitness—it’s about a holistic approach that includes a relationship with Jesus Christ and mental health literacy. Passionate about fitness and with two years of experience as a sales associate in the athleisure industry, I couldn’t find a brand that aligned with my values. So, I created the brand I wanted to see—one focused on being “healing, healthy, & holy.”

The idea for ThirdBase took root during a challenging time in my life, marked by untreated depression and anxiety. I felt called to inspire women to heal and embrace complete wellness. What started as an everyday ministry, where I shared the importance of the mind-body-spirit connection, grew into something more significant. During the pandemic’s athleisure boom, I saw a gap in the market—brands focused on performance and aesthetics but didn’t fully embrace the mind-body-spirit connection.

I envisioned ThirdBase as a brand that empowers women to take a holistic approach to their wellness. Our athleisure products support physical performance while also inspiring mindfulness and spiritual connection. We’ve built a community where women feel seen, heard, and supported, embodying our motto: “For healing girls, by healing girls.”

Today, ThirdBase is more than a clothing line—it’s a mission. We’re committed to making a positive impact, continually innovating, and drawing inspiration from our community. Our goal is to push the boundaries of athleisure and inspire women to live their healthiest, most balanced lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I firmly believe that we’re often called to let go of something good to allow God to lead us to something greater. After spending 3 years in Corporate America, where I quickly climbed the ladder, earned a great salary, and was on the brink of my second promotion, God directed me to leave my job. Walking away from a nearly six-figure income during an economic downturn was not part of my plan. However, true faith often requires us to let go of the good to make room for the great.

Entrepreneurship is anything but easy, and I believe all business owners can agree that the amount of faith it takes to run a business can be scary. There’s no guarantee that new products will sell or that customers will be satisfied; Therefore, every day as the owner of ThirdBase, I’m taking a risk.

Despite the uncertainty, moments of self-doubt, and overall fear, nothing is more fulfilling than inspiring women through faith in Jesus Christ, fitness, and mental health awareness. Even if ThirdBase never sells another item, I would be satisfied knowing the impact I’ve made on the women around me.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about ThirdBase Athleisure?
At the core of ThirdBase’s brand is a commitment to holistic wellness—where physical fitness, mental health, and spiritual well-being intersect. We specialize in designing athleisure wear that not only supports an active lifestyle but also inspires and uplifts through thoughtful design and positive messaging. Our products are more than just clothing; they’re tools for self-care, designed with intention and purpose.

We’re most proud of the community we’ve built—a supportive space where women can connect, share their wellness journeys, and feel empowered to prioritize their overall well-being. Our brand is about more than just fitness; it’s about fostering a balanced, healthy life in all aspects.

We offer a range of athleisure products that seamlessly blend performance, style, and inspiration. Our collections are designed to take women from workouts to everyday life, while reminding them to prioritize their well-being in all aspects. We want people to know that when they choose our brand, they’re not just buying athleisure wear—they’re joining a movement. A movement that celebrates every woman’s journey toward holistic wellness, encouraging them to live their healthiest, most balanced lives.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see the athleisure industry continuing to evolve, with some significant shifts on the horizon. I believe we’ll see a rise in brands that focus on building strong, supportive communities. Consumers will increasingly gravitate toward brands that create spaces for connection—whether through digital platforms or in-person events—offering more than just a product, but a shared purpose. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, people are craving connection and fellowship, and I believe customers will be drawn to brands that can offer them that sense of belonging.
