Hi Erica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
**Empowering Women Through Activewear: The Be A Star Story**

My name is Erica Vitor, a proud Latina mother, and I embarked on a journey to create a women’s activewear brand that honors and empowers all women. Based in Dallas, Be A Star was founded to inspire women of every age, race, and body type to discover their true potential through movement and self-care.

**Our Mission and Vision**

Be A Star was born from my desire to celebrate diversity and inclusivity in the activewear industry. As a Brazilian entrepreneur with a background in journalism and extensive experience in sales, I am committed to revolutionizing the activewear space by offering high-quality apparel that empowers women to enhance both their physical and mental well-being. We believe that true beauty lies in embracing who you are, and our mission is to inspire confidence in every woman who wears our brand.

**Our Journey So Far**

Launched at the end of May 2024, Be A Star has already made significant strides. In our first month alone, our website, www.beastar.store, garnered over 2,000 visits—a clear indication that we are on the right path. While we currently operate as an online-only store, our vision includes expanding to physical locations in the future to better serve our growing community.

Our products are carefully curated to meet the highest standards of quality and exclusivity, reflecting our dedication to research and customer satisfaction. Despite the competitive pricing, we ensure swift delivery and a seamless shopping experience for our customers. Our collection caters to women of all ages, sizes, and ethnicities, celebrating diversity and individuality.

**Our Sales and Marketing Strategy**

At Be A Star, we prioritize building lasting relationships with our customers through exceptional service. We take a consultative approach, working closely with our clients to understand their needs and deliver personalized solutions. Our marketing strategy leverages digital platforms such as social media, email campaigns, and search engine optimization to increase brand visibility and engage with potential customers.

We also value the power of referrals and organic marketing. We believe that satisfied customers are our most effective advocates, and we strive to exceed their expectations at every turn.

**Looking Ahead**

As we continue to grow, we plan to host women’s wellness gatherings, featuring volunteer professionals from various fields, to further support and empower women in our community. Our goal is to create a space where women can connect, learn, and inspire one another on their journey to holistic well-being.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a company is one of the hardest roads I’ve ever traveled. It requires diligent research into marketing, investment, credit, and all the other essentials needed to launch a business. I embarked on this journey entirely on my own, which meant I had to learn everything—from building an attractive website and mastering SEO to executing effective marketing strategies—while keeping costs low.

I’m managing all of this alongside my job in the insurance industry and being a single mom. The challenges are immense, but I know many of your readers can relate to my experience. They might hesitate to start their own business, unsure if they have what it takes to succeed. But I’m here to tell you that you can.

Every woman is multi-talented and strong, capable of achieving anything she sets her mind to. If I can navigate these challenges and pursue my dream, so can you. It’s not easy, but the rewards of following your passion and building something meaningful make it all worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Whenever I’m asked about my journey, it’s hard to know where to start because I’ve worn so many hats along the way. My story began at 13 when I became a professional actress and a TV presenter in Brazil. I performed in plays, sang in bars, and pursued a degree in journalism, believing I could make a difference in the world. However, after a short stint in news, I realized that without the power to control the narrative, I couldn’t create the impact I wanted. So, I returned to TV, interviewing famous singers and even venturing into sales.

But life had more in store for me. I discovered a passion for aviation, became an instructor for flight attendants, and started training to be a pilot. This path led me to the USA, where I worked with air shows, met my now ex-husband, and eventually got married and had my daughter.

After a very rough divorce, I sought stability and a fresh start, which led me to the insurance industry. Through all these experiences, a dream began to take shape—a dream of starting my own company, where I could fully embrace my beliefs and passions.

I know the road to entrepreneurship is challenging, especially when you’re juggling multiple roles like being a single mom and working full-time. But I also know that every woman has the strength and resilience to achieve her dreams, no matter how difficult the journey may be. If I can do it, so can you.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Absolutely. My biggest piece of advice is to embrace the journey, knowing it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Don’t be afraid to start small and learn as you go. There will be times when you feel overwhelmed or uncertain, but remember that every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Seek out mentors, build a network of support, and never underestimate the power of resilience and perseverance. Trust yourself and the vision you have, and don’t be afraid to pivot when necessary.

I wish I knew just how important it is to be patient with yourself and the process. When I first started, I felt the pressure to do everything perfectly and immediately, but success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s okay to make mistakes and take your time to find your footing. I also wish I had understood the value of delegation earlier on—trying to do everything yourself can lead to burnout. It’s important to recognize when to seek help and surround yourself with people who complement your skills. Lastly, I would tell my younger self to trust in the journey and believe in my abilities, even when the path isn’t clear.
