Today we’d like to introduce you to Zunitria Butler
Hi zunitria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My mother was an upcoming actress before she had kids. So when she had kids she put me in acting classes, basically everything except singing. I didn’t like it at first but over time I grew to find acting my true passion. Over the past 3 years I have been doing auditions and submitting for performances nonstop.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’m not going to lie and say it hasn’t been a struggle because it has. It was many of times I felt discouraged because I was submitting for hundreds of auditions and not getting anything back. Til this day I do about 4 auditions a day and I have to remember not every audition I will get a callback.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an upcoming actress, model and dancer. And when I am not on set I am a server at a restaurant back home in Shreveport, Louisiana. I feel people have mostly heard of me because of my movie I have coming out this year on Amazon prime. Something that sets me apart from others is that I have made acting my only plan in life. God allowed me to keep this dream alive for me and I work really hard to achieve this goal and I still have more work to do. But with God all things are possible!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see this industry growing tremendously especially in Louisiana. With 50 cent coming down and creating G-Unit studios, it’s giving a lot more light on the hidden talent that’s in the south.
