Check Out Trey “Treydey” Soto’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey “Treydey” Soto

Hi Trey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After 6 years in the military, I began my journey in the music industry by managing “KyleGotThatCannon”, Tay Money’s Official DJ. Along the way I developed great relationships with some of Dallas’ most respected DJ’s. Until eventually learning the skill of mixing and being pushed to do more by others. A great friend and drummer, Matt Madiro, once told me, “You don’t belong behind the scenes.”
That was the final push I needed to secure my first set at Select Start Dallas in January of 2023.

After two months of practice I secured my first residency as DJ. But I knew I wanted more. My dream was just beginning. Fast forwarding through a year and a half of hard work, development, and sleepless nights. I have now played nearly every venue that I dreamed of playing in Dallas. Also played along side some of the greatest DJ’s i.e. Marshmello and Sudden Death. Even after the small achievements I’ve accomplished so far, I know that this is just the beginning. One day I hope to be entertaining people all over the world through my music.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road but I love a challenge. Trying to build a name for myself in Dallas as a respected DJ in such a short time has to be the most difficult task. When you’re going up next to guys/girls that have been in the industry for a decade it can be challenging, but all I had to do was stay true to the music and the craft and continue proving myself every time I touch the decks.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a DJ that specializes in EDM and House Music. I think the thing I’m known most for is probably my energy level during my sets. I love getting involved with the people in the crowd and having those connections with people through the music. I definitely take pride in my ability to control the crowd and make sure that we all are having fun. I love to see laughter and smiles during my sets. I believe what sets me apart is my passion for music. My constant drive to push the bar. Especially when it comes to my own original music.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me has to be the entertainment aspect of DJing. I absolutely love seeing the reaction from a crowd when I play. The smiles, laughs, and dancing are all the things that motivate me to go harder. I’m obsessed with that feeling!
