Meet Samaja Stevenson of Serene Alore Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samaja Stevenson

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I come from a small town called Vernon, Texas. Growing up there instilled in me a strong sense of community and hard work. At a young age, I moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which was a big change but also opened up new opportunities for me.

Throughout my journey, building a strong relationship with God has been central to everything I do. My faith has guided me through challenges and kept me grounded, especially as I’ve taken on various roles in my life.

Starting my own business was a major milestone, but my journey didn’t stop there. I felt a calling to share my experiences and insights with others, which led me to become a minister and an author. Each of these roles—CEO, minister, and author—allows me to contribute in different ways, but they’re all connected by my desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far I’ve come from that small town, and I’m grateful for every step of the journey that brought me to where I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
To be honest, the road has definitely not been smooth. One of the biggest challenges I faced was learning patience. When you start your own business, there’s an inherent desire to see immediate results, especially when you’ve invested so much of yourself into it. But the reality is, success doesn’t always come as quickly as we hope.

There were times when I doubted myself, wondering if I made the right choice, especially when things weren’t moving as fast as I wanted. I had to constantly remind myself that success isn’t a sprint; it’s a marathon. It took time for me to realize that I would succeed when it was my turn—when everything was aligned, and I was truly ready to take on the responsibilities that success brings.

The struggle was learning to trust the process and staying focused on my goals, even when the results weren’t immediate. There were moments of frustration, but over time, I learned that patience isn’t just about waiting—it’s about keeping the faith and continuing to work hard, knowing that your efforts will pay off when the time is right.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk-taking has played a significant role in my career journey. My perspective on risk is that it’s an essential component of growth, both personally and professionally. Without risk, there’s little room for innovation or true progress.

One of the major risks I took was quitting my job to start my own business. It wasn’t an easy decision by any means. I had a stable career, a regular income, and a clear path forward in my previous role. However, I realized that staying in that comfort zone was limiting my potential. I had a vision for something greater, but it required stepping into the unknown.

When I decided to start my business, I had no guarantees of success. There were financial uncertainties, and I knew I’d be responsible for everything—from the initial investment to the day-to-day operations. It was daunting, but I believed in my idea and in my ability to make it work.

Taking that leap taught me invaluable lessons. It pushed me to develop new skills, build resilience, and adapt quickly to challenges. The risk paid off, and I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t taken that chance.

In my experience, calculated risks—those where you’ve done your homework and believe in the potential outcome—are the ones worth taking. They can lead to incredible opportunities and growth that wouldn’t be possible by playing it safe
