Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Falade

Hi Daniela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The day I decided to take culinary serious is a time I’ll never forget. I remember giving myself a thousand reasons why cooking wouldn’t be a good idea, “I’m not going to make a lot of money”, “What if people don’t like my food,”, “How can I make a living out of this?” I had so many questions and reasons to say no. I remember asking God about my purpose after being left feeling so unfulfilled and lost espically while battling postpartum depression after the birth of my son in 2019. When I started working again after taking time off after having my baby was when I truly started feeling like I wasn’t walking in my purpose, simply working to pay the bills. I remember praying to God to tell me what my purpose in life was and then next thing I know, I came up with the idea to create an instagram page for the cooking I was doing just for fun. I remember immeditely getting postive comments, likes and DMS regarding my food. People started asking me if I sold food but at the time it was simply for fun so I always said no. Shortly after growing my page and posting my creations, in 2022 a family friend asked if I could cater a small birthday brunch she was hosting, at first I was specticle because I had never really cooked for a group of people before, but I decided to do it for her and the rest is history!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like anything else in life this journey hasn’t always been smooth, but I am so grateful for it all. Life keeps going, there are things that happen to me in my personal life that I don’t even speak about and sometimes that makes it hard for me to focus on what’s going on in my business. Being the main person running my brand can get overwhelming sometimes, but I am so proud of how I overcome obstacles, learn from them and use it to grow. Between keeping in contact with clients, expanding my business, slow months, busy schedules, keeping up with social media pages, and still learning along the way, it can be difficult, but I am passionate about what I do, and I am always left feeling fulfilled.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always pretty friendly and outgoing. My parents instilled in my siblings and I the importance of being a kind person and made sure we were a part of our community. We didn’t have lots of money, but I was always surrounded by love and my parents’ prayers, I have both of my parents’ personality and work ethic which is what’s molding me to be the woman I am today. I always knew I wanted to break generational curses even as a young adult and always strived to do so. I believe with all the characteristics I possess, the lessons I’ve learned growing up and the things that have been instilled in me will help me achieve all the things I put my mind to as I continue to grow.
