Life & Work with Antwine Antoinette Love of Irving

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antwine Antoinette Love

Hi Antwine Antoinette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began baking in Charlotte, NC while still working in corporate America. Baking started as a hobby for family and friends, but gradually gained popularity. My work caught the attention of professional athletes and famous recording artists like Snoop Dogg. I had many achievements, including being featured in national publications and on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. This local success led to opportunities to do baking segments for Charlotte, NC news stations. All of this was happening while I was still working my corporate job. Eventually, my talent took me to the national stage when I was chosen out of thousands to compete in Seasons 2 and 3 of ABC’s The Great American Baking Show.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I cannot say it has been a smooth road. Being a single mother, working my corporate job, and running a business was extremely hard at times. When I tell people that I was on two seasons of a baking show, they usually think it’s an exciting thing. However, the reality was that I suffered a devastating blow: I lost my father while filming the first season of the show and had to leave the competition. It was because of that experience that I was given a second chance to come back and compete in the next season. Although I was grateful to get another change to compete losing my dad unexpectedly the first season rocked my foundation. Think about it: I left my job to compete on the show. When I came back home, I found myself without my best friend, jobless, and a single mother. I also had to experience grief on a national stage.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am passionate about using my baking skills to inspire others. I enjoy hosting pop-up shops. My baking style blends my culinary heritage with European pastry influences. I am known for using my baking expertise to teach others through TV appearances and by hosting pop-up classes that I call The Pastry Experience. I am most proud of the opportunity to share my story and encourage others to live purposefully. The unique aspect of my baking talent is my understanding that it is a gift and not my identity. I realize that I have been given this gift to inspire others. I often say that baking is the tool that allows me to connect with people and encourage them to live their lives walking in their purpose on purpose.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The first person who deserves al the credit is God. He is my source. He has given me a talent that has taken me around the world. Secondly, my father encouraged me to take the leap, pursue my dreams, and film the show. He was my biggest cheerleader. Lastly, I want to thank my family and friends. My tribe is amazing! They have been there to encourage me to chase my dreams by providing love and support.
