Today we’d like to introduce you to Nakia Fleming
Hi Nakia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I became a Lifestyle and Wellness Coach because I wanted to give women the guidance and knowledge that I didn’t have. I was a young single mother who worked her way through nursing school to provide for my children. I became a wife and had more children. There were so many things about marriage, motherhood and self development that I had to learn on my own. I want to empower and educate women early. I want to help women make the most use of their time and grow through every season.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a slow road. There is so much to learn about the business aspect as well as growing as a coach. This is also such a busy season with sending a son to college and still guiding one through high school. We also have grandchildren that we are actively involved with.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a certified Life and Wellness Coach. My passion is helping women learn to care for themselves while they are caring for others. I have been a Registered Nurse for 19 years and have seen first hand what being a caregiver does to the health of the caregiver. I also have a passion for guiding teenagers through the tough transition of career planning and blooming adulthood. My life experience and compassion sets me apart from others. I have a real feel for what is lacking and am able to help my clients find joy and fulfillment. I’m proud that I am building community and giving back in very authentic way. I am a down to earth coach that cares more about building healthy habits and getting you to your goals than being a viral brand. I want each encounter to feel like you are meeting a friend for coffee or drinks to decompress and get rejuvenated.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Because I am an overthinker, I believe that I’m personally a calculated risk taker. As for the general public I support risk taking as long as you aren’t hurting others or yourself in the process. I fully believe that you can always change your mind, and starting over can be magical. We have moved our family across the country twice in search of a place called home and I recently became an entrepreneur and both of those been very risky.
