Community Highlights: Meet Jasmine Garner of Christian Body Image

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Garner

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Jasmine Garner, I’m 30 years old and a boy mom to a toddler. I’m a Commercial and Print Model and a Dual-Certified Body Image and Self-Esteem Coach. I started modeling at the age of 15 when I attended Barbizon Modeling School. Unfortunately, I had to end classes just a few weeks from graduation because my mom could no longer afford it. After all, she was a single mom of 5 and couldn’t support each of our endeavors. It wasn’t until I was 21 years old that I was able to graduate from Donna Groff Agency in Memphis, TN. I spent the next few years building my portfolio, acting in short films, doing runways shows, and breaking into commercial print.

Along side my modeling career, the Lord told me to start ministering to women online about modesty, body image, and self-esteem. In 2017, I launched The Modest Movement Ministry and in 2024 I launched a new platform called Christian Body Image. I became a Dual-Certified Body Image and Self-Esteem Coach to support women and teens who struggle with self-image and identity.

I can relate so much to these women because I grew up with self-esteem and body image issues due to childhood bullying, dealing with my parents separation and divorce, and as you’d hear in my podcasts, the music I listened to was toxic and unhealthy.

I really enjoy the mix between modeling and encouraging women to discover and embrace their identity in Christ and not in superficial glamour.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been far from smooth, but very twisted and jagged. I was raised in a healthy home until around third grade when my dad’s drug addiction took over. We started witnessing what drug addiction can do to a family and how it impacts children living in instability and fear. My mom tried her best to keep things afloat and we missed a lot of opportunities to enjoy our childhood experience. Unresolved trauma has sent us away from God’s path and made it harder to focus on who He made us to be.

As you know, we’re big fans of Christian Body Image. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Christian Body Image is an online ministry providing courses, coaching, and content to help women overcome body image and self-esteem issues. All of our courses are free and we do offer free consultations to women who need one on one accountability. I am a Dual-Certified Body Image and Self-Esteem Coach so all of our content has proven strategies to help women walk confidently in their identity and self-image.

What makes us unique is that we apply biblical principles to the practical strategies which helps women grow spiritually in their relationship with God and with themselves and others.

I am happy to share God’s truths in this area because mental health issues like body dysmorphia, and low self-worth are on the rise and we pride ourselves on being the light of Jesus Christ.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Yes, alongside Christian Body Image, our parent brand is The Modest Movement Ministry. Our ministry serves women of all walks of life who are interested in learning the benefits of modest fashion and the theology behind this lost virtue. We have a lot of content on YouTube and we have free e-books available for women who need help following a blueprint for modest fashion.
