Raven, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2019 I received a promotion at my job then COVID hit. I was then furloughed due to not having the proper training for my new position.
This incident led me to pray .
I asked God to reveal a gift or a talent that I could use to support my family.
I also asked Him to tell me 3 times because I can be hard headed.
Anywho my prayer was answered rather quickly.
When I got my first camera, and I fell in love with the freedom entrepreneurship offered instantly.
In July 2022 we relocated to Dallas.
I got my first client in October and quit my job in December!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I started my business I didn’t receive any initial support from the people closest to me. Actually everyone told me it was a bad idea and said I shouldn’t charge.
However, I took that as a sign that I was doing something right and leaned into it more. I got a coach immediately and charged based on my experience.
The real struggle was the fact that entrepreneurship highlighted all of my flaws.
I had to make lifestyle changes, in order for my business to continue to grow.
I also had to get out of my head and get over myself and learn how to work hard for things I really wanted.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a photographer/content creator. I help business owners by capturing and creating the content they need to promote their business/brand.
I also really enjoy capturing weddings it literally has my heart.
It brings a lot of joy to play a role in bringing someones visions to life.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love the Lord, I have two amazing babies Riley and Noah. I enjoy shooting hoops and lifting weights and reading.
