Today we’d like to introduce you to Tisha Holman.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey has been a very interesting one to say the least! I am fortunate to have strengths that have allowed me to operate in many facets of business, which has led me to coin the term “bi-brandal” – I operate 2 unique brands – Mind Your Business, LLC & Tisha Holman Events!
Tisha Holman Events was born while I was in High School. My Junior Prom was, and is still to date, one of the worst events I have attended. I was determined to make sure my classes Senior Ball was amazing, so I ran for Senior Class Vice President because that officer chaired the Senior Ball Planning Committee – Needless to say, I won and the Senior Ball was nothing short of fabulous! From there, Tisha Holman Events has evolved into a full service, boutique Event Design, Planning & Production that handles Events of every kind. I have had the pleasure of planning everything from the most beautiful of weddings in locales like Sint Maarten, to executing fundraisers for non-profit organizations, to Celebrity Golf Tournaments! I also teach Certification courses for Weddings & Event Planning and Corporate Events at the University of Texas, Arlington. My work with events has also led to television appearances on ABC, CBS, FOX and other local networks.
Mind Your Business, LLC was born when I realized that entrepreneurs, small businesses, and organizations could benefit from the knowledge and expertise I have acquired in the areas of Digital Marketing, Brand Strategy and Social Media. Today, Mind Your Business provides Consulting, Strategic Development, Social Media Training and Social Media Management to businesses in a variety of industries!
I am the Author of three books, “Lights! Camera! Action! Get Your Brand on Television!”, “The Social Media Makeover” and “The Social Media Makeover: Managing Your Team”. I also have had the pleasure to be a Speaker and conduct Trainings & Workshops at Conferences both Domestic and International.
This journey has been quite a ride, but I’m buckled in ready to see what is up ahead!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
If any Entrepreneur is honest, they will admit that they have had to overcome hurdles and challenges along the way. It is my belief that the challenges we encounter are valuable lessons that only make us stronger, more formidable players in our industry.
I am a native of Sacramento, CA – moving to Dallas was a challenge because I had to find a way to make my brand known in a large city with a saturated events market (there is NO shortage of Event Planners in the DFW area!) I did my research and looked for ways to differentiate myself and have been able to create a path for my brand, and birth a second one! Dallas has been good to me! What I perceived as a challenge is what propelled me towards success.
Mind Your Business & Tisha Holman Events – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What I am most proud of when it comes to Mind Your Business and Tisha Holman Events is that both of my brands push me to continually develop myself as an Entrepreneur, and challenge me to be innovative and ahead of trends in order to provide a great experience for my clients.
What sets me apart from others is the fact that when they come to either one of my companies, they get an unrelenting commitment to customer satisfaction. No matter what your product or service is – if the customer service is missing, success will have a short shelf-life for you.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
As long as my companies are moving forward in an innovative way, accomplishing the goals we set, and making a positive impact on the people we touch, I call that success.
