Inspiring Conversations with Briana Robertson of The Law Office of Briana C. Robertson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Robertson

Hi Briana , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve known I wanted to be a lawyer since I was 12 years old. Watching Claire Huxtable on The Cosby Show, I admired her grace, intelligence, and strength. As I grew older, that childhood inspiration evolved from wanting to be like Claire to wanting to be a voice for the voiceless. I began to look up to civil rights icons like Charles Hamilton Houston and Thurgood Marshall, who stood as champions of justice. Their legacies fueled my desire to attend Howard University School of Law, where I proudly graduated in 2015.

I started my legal career as a prosecutor, first in Georgia, then in Louisiana. While working as a prosecutor, I was afforded the opportunity to open my own law firm part-time, which I did in 2020 during the pandemic. In 2022, my husband and I felt that God was calling us to move to Dallas, Texas. With faith leading the way, we sold our home, packed up our family, and embarked on a new chapter in Dallas.

Initially, I assumed I would continue working in criminal law. However, God had other plans. When I first opened my firm, I began learning more about business law, driven by the thought that if I, as an attorney, wasn’t fully aware of all the legal intricacies of running a business, how could others who hadn’t gone to law school be expected to know? This realization stirred something deeper in me. I felt a clear calling for my firm to be an advocate for generational wealth.

God revealed to me that He was raising up kingdom businesses with the purpose of generating wealth that could be passed down through generations. These businesses were intended to operate independently, without relying on government support. But in that process, God showed me that these ventures would face attacks, from big businesses and other forces, aiming to tear them down. That’s when He called people like me to step in and stand in the gap.

Through my firm, I’ve been called to protect this wealth, ensuring it is safeguarded and passed down to future generations. This is why we not only focus on business law but also provide estate planning and probate services—to help preserve and protect the legacies that God is building.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey to opening and running my law firm has been far from easy. As any entrepreneur will tell you, running a business is not for the faint of heart. For me, one of the unique challenges was starting fresh in a new city where I had no established connections. To add to that, I was called to start my firm with minimal resources, all while managing the responsibilities of caring for my family. It was a daunting task, but it forced me to adopt a relentless hustle.

I had to step out of my comfort zone, get out there, and network to build my name and reputation. This was not the time to be shy or hesitant—my family was depending on me, and I also realized that my children were watching me closely, seeing me as an example. This gave me the strength to push through fear, silence the doubts, and ignore the naysayers who told me I should quit. I had to hold on tightly to the word God had spoken over me, trusting that He had a purpose for my journey.

At the beginning, my resources were limited—just a laptop and a cell phone. But I learned that God can do wonders with even the smallest acts of faith. With each step forward, He not only sustained me but allowed my firm to grow, even when the odds were against me. Yes, there were many tears, but there were also countless victories.

Going through this process has given me a deeper connection with my clients. I understand their struggles because I’ve walked that same path—I know what it’s like to feel the weight of uncertainty, fear, and doubt. This shared experience puts me in a unique position to offer not only legal counsel but also hope and guidance during their most challenging moments.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Law Office of Briana C. Robertson?
I am originally a native of Arizona, but I recently relocated to Dallas, Texas, a city full of opportunities and growing wealth that needs protection. Throughout history, certain groups have been at risk under the law due to disenfranchisement or a lack of legal knowledge, while others may not fully understand the importance of legal strategy in building brands, businesses, and portfolios. At B.C. Robertson Law, I am dedicated to empowering individuals to pursue their dreams with the confidence that their assets are protected. My mission is to advocate for the development and security of wealth, allowing clients to focus on their goals knowing that their future is safeguarded.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The qualities that have been instrumental to my success are, first and foremost, my faith. I can’t emphasize enough how vital it has been in keeping me grounded and moving forward. Alongside that, perseverance has been key. It’s okay to feel down at times, but you can’t stay there—especially when others are depending on you.
