Daily Inspiration: Meet Beatrice Mz,bea’z Treatz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatrice Mz,bea’z Treatz

Hi Beatrice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m often asked what inspired me to start baking, and my answer is always the same: it began as a hobby. The more I baked, the more I enjoyed it. Initially, I only baked for work events or my coworkers.

My journey into selling my treats started unexpectedly. One day, I made a spiked Peach Cobbler for a friend at work. While I was putting it in jars ,another friend stopped by, and I gave her one to try. She loved it and posted about it on Facebook. The post gained traction, and people began asking where she got it. She tagged me, and I started receiving requests. That was the moment I decided to start baking and selling treats.

That was five years ago. What began as a weekend activity to make some extra money has now turned into a small business that I run from my home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, it has been a really smooth road. I’ve had help along the way from friends who have been in the business longer than I have. They were always just a phone call away whenever I needed advice. Not to mention, I have some of the best customers I could ever work with, and I’m incredibly grateful for their support. Some of them have been with me since the very beginning. Their loyalty and encouragement have played a significant role in making this journey so smooth.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in a wide range of treats, including birthday cakes, wedding cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, cupcakes- you name it, I offer it. I’m most proud of overcoming my fears of making cakes or treats I’ve never done before. Learning to step out of my comfort zone and just go for it has been a significant achievement for me. What sets me apart from others in the same field is that I don’t try to compete or mimic what everyone else is doing; I stay true to myself. I move at my own pace, creating treats that I know people will love and enjoy.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memories revolve around our annual summer vacations to San Antonio, where we would load up in big passenger vans and practically take over one side of whichever hotel we stayed at. We gathered for every holiday-literally every single one. I fondly remember my grandma and her sisters cooking, and the whole family piling into one house to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company.
