Today we’d like to introduce you to Siobhan Cassidy Robinson
Hi Siobhan Cassidy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all began when I joined the orchestra and started learning the cello in 5th grade. From that point on, I delved into my creativity and passion for music with the performing arts. Playing throughout elementary school and into college provided me with a unique creative outlet I hadn’t anticipated excelling in.
By the time I was a sophomore in high school, I had decided to pursue a career as a film composer. Following this dream has opened up numerous opportunities and helped me set new goals within my creative realm. Now, I aspire to be more than just a composer; I aim to be an innovator for artists like myself!
The first step is a new platform I have created called “MiniFilm”- it gives under appreciated artists in the music and video industries a space to showcase their work to an audience, sell their content, and get hired on exciting gigs! My goal for the platform is for it to operate similar to a TV network/ production studio. There is the entertainment side and a business side.
MiniFilm will give aspiring, fledgling, or seasoned professionals the chance to accelerate their careers and make quick cash on small production timelines. Hence the term MINI! With this model, you will be able to complete several gigs at once and consistently build your network in a short period of time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I say this with complete honesty: pursuing a creative career or trying to make it in the entertainment industry is tough. In my case, Texas doesn’t have a large film industry, so I’ve had to make the most of the opportunities available, even if they weren’t exactly what I had envisioned. This situation has pushed me to continuously find new ways to create opportunities for myself. Despite the challenges, I am incredibly grateful for the projects I’ve been involved in!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
During the day, I work as a middle school orchestra director. After hours, I teach enthusiastic young cellists privately and work on a commission or two. I’m known for my compositions and performances.
I take immense pride in my dedication. Many would have given up on this journey by now, but I haven’t. What sets me apart is my genuine passion for what I do. I approach playing, creating, and teaching with the same love and care as if they were my own child, and I would never abandon them. Even trying to describe my dedication feels inadequate; my heart is deeply intertwined with my music. I feel truly blessed that God has gifted me with creativity and the opportunity to play the cello.
My most exciting project is MiniFilm. I have ambitious goals for it to evolve into something truly impactful and significant. Looking ahead, I hope large production studios will notice and hire talent from it. Eventually, I also want to bring on a team of video producers and composers to create content for the site. This idea was created from my difficult journey of being an artist.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I appreciate the relaxed atmosphere of central Texas. With its low-key entertainment scene, navigating the downtown artistic culture is quite straightforward. Plus, it’s a cost-effective place to live!
On the downside, though, there’s the weather! Haha! I enjoy my summers, but we all know just how hot it gets down South!
