Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenna Govea
Hi Brenna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Some of my earliest memories as a child is going with my dad for the weekend and being at the restaurant while he was working. Interacting with guests and playing pretend as a server was a something I thrived in and truly enjoyed at a young age.
Growing up in a restaurant at a young age was incredibly beneficial for developing strong people skills and mastering the art of interaction. In a restaurant, you are constantly exposed to a diverse range of customers, each with their own personalities and needs. This environment taught me how to communicate effectively, read social cues, and manage different types of interactions. The fast-paced nature of the restaurant industry also helps build confidence and quick decision-making skills. Being in this environment early on helped me develop emotional intelligence, empathy, and adaptability, which are essential in personal and professional relationships.
I’ve never been shy about having my picture taken or being in front of the camera or large crowds. From an early age, I’ve been comfortable in the spotlight, whether it’s posing for photos or speaking in front of a large audience. This confidence has come naturally, allowing me to thrive in situations where others might feel self-conscious. Being in front of people, whether physically or digitally, has always felt like a space where I could express myself freely, without fear of judgment. This ease with attention has helped shape my ability to engage with others and present myself confidently in any setting.
Fast forward to December of 2021 and I embarked on a fitness journey and began sharing my progress on social media, using it as a way to document my transformation. As I grew stronger, I also started feeling confident in myself again, both physically and mentally. One day, a friend took notice of my progress and suggested I try doing a photoshoot. Intrigued, I gave it a shot, and that first experience in front of the camera ignited something within me. It was in that moment I realized that modeling wasn’t just fun—it was something I genuinely wanted to pursue as a career.
I recently launched my own website dedicated to my modeling career, and I’m excited to share it with the world. Brennamodel.com features my portfolio, showcasing the variety of shoots I’ve done, along with my booking rates for those interested in working with me. I’ve also included testimonials from clients and collaborators, highlighting their experiences and the quality of my work. Additionally, there’s other helpful information to make it easier for people to connect with me and learn more about what I offer as a model. This website feels like a big step in growing my career and making everything more accessible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve been truly blessed in my modeling journey, as I’ve never really had anything stand in the way of my progress. Every step along the way has felt like a natural progression, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to meet the right people at the right time. Each person I’ve encountered has played a role in helping me grow, whether by offering advice, guidance, or simply supporting my vision. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and the amazing individuals who have believed in me and contributed to my development as a model.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I like to go into any shoot telling myself that I am going to take on whatever persona the photographer may be trying to capture. If you put me in a setting that is new to me, no problem! I like to think one of my super powers is being able to quickly adapt to whatever my surroundings are & really focus on listening to whatever direction or pointers the photographer is giving me.
By the end of the shoot the photographer and I will be reading each other’s minds and no words will even need to be said, we just create ! Every shoot I book makes me proud of myself, and I am so thankful that people see me as a muse for their creativity and with that it only makes me want to perform the best I can for them.
I think what sets me apart from others is I do my very best to make whoever I work with know that we are a team, we can laugh and have fun, and it’s okay to let loose and breath a little. Team work makes the dream work & I’ll do anything to get that final end goal you’re wanting to capture.
How do you define success?
Success is not a destination, but a journey of growth, authenticity, and fulfillment. In life, success means embracing who I am, staying true to my values, and building meaningful connections with others. It’s about finding joy in the everyday moments, having the courage to follow my passions, and using my experiences to inspire and uplift those around me.
In my modeling career, success isn’t just about recognition or accolades, but about the stories I tell through my work and the impact I leave on the creative world. It’s about pushing boundaries, staying authentic, and continually evolving. When I bring my true self to every project, collaborate with others, and feel proud of the art we create together, I know I’m succeeding. Ultimately, success is measured not just by external achievements, but by how much I’ve grown, learned, and loved along the way.
