Inspiring Conversations with Steve Feldman of Hoshi Japanese Cafe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Feldman

Hi Steve, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have a Youtube channel called Steve’s POV with 703,000 subscribers. The channel is about Japanese culture, cars, cuisine and society. My love for Japan goes back many years and I speak, read, write Japanese fluently. My passion for Japan led me to wanting to open a cafe here in Texas that focuses on some of the most popular Japanese street foods like Obanyaki, Onigiri, Okonomiyaki and terrific gourmet coffees and drinks too. The name of the new cafe is Hoshi Japanese Cafe located in Plano

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My first time ever running a business like this so there was lots of bumps along the way. City approvals, food related things I was never aware of.. construction and of course marketing a brand new brand was all a challenge

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Authentic Japanese Street Foods Made in Texas!
Obanyaki, Onigiri, PandaYaki, Gyudon, Yakisoba Sandwich, Gourmet Japan Inspired Coffee and Teas from Shizuoka Japan.
We have events at the cafe; mainly car related where 100+ cars usually come to enjoy hanging out and good food and people.
We also have “seminar” nights at the cafe where we discus Japan, learning Japanese and I give tips and insight to people from my experience.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
This is a project I started together with my wife who gets all the credit for the delicious original recipes because I can’t cook anything!
